Jane, Darcy, and Ian had already witnessed this scene multiple times just moments ago, so they weren't overly shocked. Before this, they had even been tossing things around like this for fun; the only thing that caught them a bit off guard was that the object passed through a solid wall instead of just empty air.
Stepping up next to Jane, Darcy stared at the teleportation point--which looked absolutely no different from the rest of the wall--and asked warily, "So you just went whoosh and passed right through earlier, just like that bottle?"
Jane didn't argue, but she did clarify, "I was pulled through by a suction force!"
"Then aren't we in a lot of danger standing here?"
Ian, who was clutching their instruments behind the two women, couldn't help but chime in.
Neither woman paid him any attention. Darcy scanned the area, spotted a smallish stone, picked it up, and hurled it forward with all her might.
Swish!
The stone slipped through the wall just like the soda can, without making a single sound.
Staring at the wall before her, Jane racked her brain to recall what had happened earlier. After a moment's hesitation, she said, "Actually, I feel like when I went in... while I was unconscious, it felt like someone was holding me."
Fenyx hadn't expected that because his movements had been so swift, Jane would actually sense his presence right before the Great Grand Alchemy took effect.
"What?!"
Darcy, who was in the middle of looking for another object to throw, froze when she heard this. Abandoning her search, she asked in astonishment, "Someone was holding you? Are you saying there's someone in there?"
"I'm not sure."
Jane replied with a frown. Though it had been a mere glimpse, thanks to her excellent memory, she still had a vague recollection of what the Sealed Land looked like. It didn't look like a place where humans could exist at all.
"Then what does that mean?"
Darcy looked at Jane with curiosity. She wasn't exactly a serious, hard-nosed scientist; if it weren't for their friendship, she wouldn't even bother with all this.
But Jane didn't answer Darcy. She stared blankly at the wall for a moment before saying in a low voice, "I want to go back in and take another look."
Darcy froze again, then couldn't help but cry out, "Are you crazy?"
Ian also looked at Jane in astonishment. Although he had heard Darcy recount their thrilling adventures earlier, it was only now that he realized this female scientist was far more daring than the stories made her out to be.
"You don't even know where that place is or how you got back, and you actually want to go back over there?"
Darcy said with a deep frown. While she was willing to go on adventures with Jane, she had no desire to watch her march off to her death.
Hearing Darcy's words, a flash of hesitation crossed Jane's face. Based on her earlier memory, while she was reasonably confident that the inside was safe, she couldn't guarantee a way back out.
"I know you desperately want to find him, but there's no need to throw your life away!"
Darcy looked at Jane and urged, "What we should do right now is get you to a hospital for a check-up, then track down Erik. After that, we can all come back here together and study this situation using your scientific methods."
"I think she's right," Ian chimed in from the side, giving Darcy a nod of approval.
Jane obviously knew Darcy's words made perfect sense, but she had her reasons for choosing to go in right now. She explained to the two of them: "I suspect the locations of these spatial anomalies are constantly shifting. If we wait, this might just turn back into a regular wall, and I'll never be able to find that place again."
"Why are you so set on going back?"
Though she understood the reasoning, Darcy still couldn't comprehend Jane's ultimate goal for going back.
Jane couldn't quite put it into words either. She just felt that when she was being sucked through earlier, she had sensed a kind of calling. At the same time, she truly wanted to figure out exactly what was going on.
"Maybe I'm just tired of experiencing things that leave me with no answers."
Jane offered a bitter smile as Thor crossed her mind. She then continued, "Alright, enough talk. I'm going in now. If I'm not back within half an hour, try calling this number to ask him for help."
Jane pulled a slip of paper from her pocket and handed it to Darcy. This was the contingency plan she had decided on before heading in.
Deep down, she was actually inclined to trust Fenyx's identity. After all, there probably weren't many people in this world who knew about Thor's actual situation while simultaneously posing as the Silver Knight.
"Is this the Silver Knight's phone number?"
Seeing Jane nod, Darcy carefully took the slip of paper. Watching Jane take a deep breath and prepare to walk toward the wall, she couldn't help but worry, "Are you absolutely sure about this?"
"Yeah."
Jane nodded and walked straight into the wall.
Meanwhile, in Asgard, Thor had returned from his campaigns. As was his habit, he brought some wine and his troubles to the Bifrost to confide in Heimdall.
After chatting casually about the Convergence of the realms, Thor asked the question he cared about most.
"How is she doing?"
"Your mortal girlfriend?"
Heimdall smiled, gazing out into the starry expanse. "She is very clever. Though she hasn't fully figured it out yet, she has been studying the Convergence lately. In fact..."
As he spoke, Heimdall suddenly paused. A look of shock appeared on his face, causing Thor's heart to tighten.
"What's wrong?" Thor asked urgently.
"She's gone."
Heimdall's eyes glowed intensely as he stared at the distant cosmos, replying in a heavy voice, "I just saw her walk into an intersection boundary point, and then she vanished. I cannot perceive her location right now."
"What?!"
Thor grew frantic instantly. He couldn't help but grab Heimdall's arm and ask, "Why would she enter a boundary point?"
"I do not know."
Heimdall replied while carefully searching for Jane's whereabouts. But Thor couldn't afford to wait. Dimensional travel was no safe matter, let alone for an ordinary human like Jane. Even just a few days without water could cost her her life.
Thor extended his hand, summoning the hammer he had left at the palace, and said to Heimdall, "Send me to Earth. I need to find her."
Heimdall turned to look at Thor, frowning as he replied, "You know your father does not wish for you to go to Earth."
"But she's in danger right now!"
Thor replied with deep worry etched across his face. Though he still hadn't figured out how to handle the situation between Jane and his family, he couldn't just stand by and watch her come to harm.
As if sensing Thor's anxiety, Mjolnir flew over at an incredible speed.
The moment the hammer hit his hand, Thor immediately took his position at the entrance of the Bifrost and urged Heimdall, "Send me over, my brother!"
Heimdall sighed and finally tore his gaze away from the stars. Carrying his sword over to the activation mechanism, he advised, "Two of her friends are still nearby. You can ask them about the situation."
"Right."
With Thor's nod, Heimdall activated the Bifrost, teleporting Thor to Earth. Afterward, he didn't give up, continuing to scan the Nine Realms with his vision in search of Jane.
Having teleported to Earth, Thor quickly located Darcy and Ian inside the building.
"Oh, my God!"
The moment she saw Thor, Darcy was completely caught off guard. She couldn't help but walk over and poke Thor's armor with her finger before asking in astonishment, "Thor, is that really you?"
Uh...
