Chapter 1 - The Night That Changed My Life :

Rievena X Ronin

The wind howled through the trees. I was sitting, watching the moon's silver light barely touch the ground. I didn't realize it was this late, but something felt off.

I heard footsteps approaching. I quickly got up, but in my hurry, I bumped into someone. He grabbed my hand and pulled me behind a tree. I looked up—blue eyes, framed by long curled eyelashes.

"Hey," I said, but he quickly shushed me. When the footsteps faded, he finally looked at me.

Rivena: "Hey, who are you? What are you doing?"

Ronin: "You're cute… and stubborn."

Rivena: "I'm not."

He stepped closer as I spoke. "Your eyes… They're gorgeous. Hazel green, right?" I didn't answer, just nodded and replied your eyes are ocean blue I said looking into his eyes .

The wind sharpened, rattling the trees like a warning. I swallowed hard, feeling exposed in the dark. Ronin's grip was steady, but his eyes darted around, alert.

"They're close," he whispered. "You shouldn't be here alone."

I shook my head. ' I - I- I ...'

Before I could finish, a shadow slipped between the trees. It moved fast, too fast for me to see clearly. Ronin pulled me back, hiding me in the darkness. My heart pounded in my chest, every sound amplified by fear.

"Stay quiet," he warned. The forest seemed alive, whispering secrets I couldn't understand. And I realized: I was completely alone… except for him - and the danger that followed .

A twig snapped nearby. I froze. Ronin slowly stepped in front of me, blocking my view of the forest. A low voice murmured something from the shadows, then faded away. Whoever it was, they didn't come closer.

Ronin let out a quiet breath. "They're gone… for now."

My legs felt weak. "What was that?" I asked.

"Someone who shouldn't have seen you," he replied. His tone was calm, but his eyes still searched the dark.

The wind softened, and the forest fell silent again. Ronin finally released my hand, but the warmth of his touch lingered. I knew this night had changed something. I wasn't in danger anymore - but I also knew this was only the beginning.
