Chapter 105 - Chapter 106: Probing Seiryū's True Strength

One by one, the Jōnin instructors appeared and led their assigned squads away.

Only Seiryū, Kurenai, and Shizune remained in the classroom.

'If it weren't for me, this little butterfly, Kurenai probably would've been in the same squad as Asuma, and their Jōnin instructor might've been Uncle Shinku.'

As for Kakashi's team, there was no change. Their Jōnin instructor was still Minato.

The Jōnin instructor for Guy's team was Aburame Sho. Did that name ever appear in the original work?

As each squad left with their Jōnin instructor, Seiryū got to know who was assigned to whom.

However, he didn't recognize most of the Jōnin, since they hadn't shown up in the original storyline.

He vaguely remembered the name of the Jōnin instructor for Guy's team.

Just a faint impression, though. He couldn't recall it clearly.

The only person from the Aburame clan he remembered well was Aburame Shino, one of the Twelve Konoha Ninja.

Kurenai's voice suddenly pulled Seiryū out of his thoughts. She asked with slight confusion, "Seiryū, our instructor is Tsunade-sama, right? Why hasn't she arrived yet?"

Seiryū snapped out of it, leaned back in his chair, and shook his head.

"How should I know? That bad woman is completely unreliable."

He turned to Shizune. Since she was Tsunade's little housekeeper, Seiryū asked, "Shizune, did that bad woman go on another drinking binge last night? It's almost ten o'clock already."

"Uh..."

Shizune gave an awkward smile, then silently nodded.

Seiryū had guessed correctly. He knew Tsunade-sama all too well.

Then, as if remembering something, Shizune's face flushed red. She scratched her cheek in embarrassment and laughed awkwardly.

"Actually... um... well, Tsunade-sama told us to go straight to her house after we finished, but I forgot..."

Both Seiryū and Kurenai were speechless.

As Tsunade's little housekeeper, Shizune was still a bit lacking.

How could she forget something like that?

They had wasted half a day waiting here for nothing.

"Let's go."

Seiryū didn't blame Shizune. Having someone like Tsunade as an elder was punishment enough. He stood up and called out.

The three left the Ninja Academy and headed for Tsunade's home.

The distance wasn't far, and they soon arrived.

"So this is Tsunade-sama's house? It's huge!"

This was Kurenai's first time here. Seeing a mansion that was clearly much larger than her own home, she was surprised.

"How much must this place cost?"

"I calculated it. This location is in the center of Konoha, the most prosperous area. With this size, it's worth at least twenty to thirty million Ryo. Plus, it's the former residence of the First Hokage and Second Hokage, so with sentimental value added in, it probably costs no less than fifty million Ryo!"

Seiryū became animated the moment the topic came up.

He had actually calculated it.

Housing prices in Konoha were quite high. Even Haruno Sakura in Boruto still had to pay off a mortgage.

Anyone who could afford a house here was no ordinary person.

This alone proved that Shinku was indeed impressive, owning a small house with a backyard.

And without a mortgage.

The little bit of money Seiryū had couldn't even get him a place like that.

Shizune: "..."

Why are you calculating all this out of nowhere?

You're not seriously thinking about asking Tsunade-sama to sell the house to pay you back, are you?

Hearing how expensive it was, Kurenai was even more shocked.

"T... that expensive? Tsunade-sama is really a rich woman."

Seiryū snorted coldly.

"She's clearly a rich woman, yet she owes me money and refuses to pay it back. She even tries to dodge the debt. People like that deserve to be struck by lightning."

Shizune couldn't let Seiryū continue any further, so she quickly changed the subject.

"Um, please come in first."

The three entered Tsunade's home.

Seiryū confidently made his way to Tsunade's room and, as if it were routine, banged loudly on the door.

He shouted, "I'm here, bad woman! Wake up! You're our Jōnin instructor and you're making us come find you? How incompetent can you be?"

Tsunade's angry roar came from inside.

"Shut up!"

"If you don't get up, I'm going to kick the door down!"

"You're so annoying!"

"Hurry up!"

"Go wait on the couch, dammit!"

After getting a response, Seiryū muttered a few complaints and stopped kicking the door.

He casually walked over to the living room sofa and sat down.

Kurenai stared at Seiryū, dumbfounded, her expression strange.

"Is this how you usually treat Tsunade-sama?"

Seiryū responded with criticism.

"That bad woman has too many bad habits. If I don't call her, she'll sleep until noon. Even a pig can't sleep as much as her."

"Ha... hehe..."

Kurenai could only let out a dry laugh.

Well, there went another image of one of the Sannin.

Only a few minutes later, Tsunade appeared in her usual outfit, exuding killing intent.

But when she saw Kurenai, she held back the urge to hit Seiryū. She couldn't lose face in front of the students.

Tsunade spoke slowly.

"It's already over?"

Seiryū glanced at her sideways, his tone full of disdain.

"What did you expect?"

Tsunade definitely had the ability, but she was just too unreliable.

Kurenai remained very respectful toward her, not daring to show any disrespect. She stood and bowed.

"Tsunade-sama."

"No need to be so formal. It's not like we haven't met before."

Tsunade waved her hand. During her time in Konoha, she had met Kurenai several times, so they weren't strangers.

She paused for a moment, looked at the three of them, then asked,

"Right... what does a Jōnin instructor usually do?"

Seiryū made a confused expression.

"You're asking us?"

Kurenai: "..."

Shizune: "..."

Amazing.

Where else would you find a Jōnin instructor asking her own students what a Jōnin instructor should do?

Tsunade wasn't even embarrassed. Thick-skinned as ever, she walked over, sat on the sofa, thought for a moment, and suddenly had an idea.

She looked at the three of them and said, "Let's start with self-introductions. When the Old Man was our Jōnin instructor, he also had us start with self-introductions."

She had no experience being a Jōnin instructor.

But she had been a student before, so she could just copy what the Third Hokage did.

Could she, Tsunade, possibly fail as a Jōnin instructor?

Seiryū muttered with no confidence, "Aren't you already familiar with us?"

"Stop talking and just do it."

Tsunade gave Seiryū a side-eye and replied flatly, "I know you very well. I even know how many moles you have."

"And exactly where they are."

Seiryū: "..."

That bad woman was bringing up his embarrassing past again.

Kurenai found Tsunade's words a bit strange but assumed it was just a metaphor.

There's no way Tsunade had actually seen Seiryū naked... right?

That's probably impossible.

Tsunade continued, "But I don't know what Ninjutsu you've mastered. Who knows how many new techniques you've come up with, you brat?"

"I need to know you. I need to understand your strength. And you also need to understand each other.

Knowing your comrades' strength is very important when fighting together."

Even though she had spent quite some time with Seiryū.

Tsunade truly didn't know what his real strength was, or how many techniques he had developed.

This was the perfect opportunity to probe Seiryū's true strength.
