Chapter 28 - London

Jay's POV

Section E was loud.

Too loud.

Someone was laughing at the back.

Someone was arguing over a chair.

Someone threw a paper ball across the room.

Pure chaos.

I sat at my desk, quiet, unmoving, staring at nothing in particular.

My fingers were clenched so tightly my nails dug into my skin.

"Why is Jay so quiet?"

"That's creepy."

"She hasn't said a word since morning.

"Is she hungry?"

Then Keifer walked in.

"Well, well," he said, clapping his hands once.

"Section E behaving exactly as expected.

"HEY!

Keifer

"Sit here!"

Laughter erupted.

Keifer laughed too, then casually leaned against my desk, way too close for comfort.

"Good morning, Mrs. Watson," he murmured, voice soft and teasing.

I didn't even look at him.

He tilted his head, studying my face.

"Wow… no reaction?"

"That hurts, you know."

I stayed silent.

He smiled like it was a game.

"What's wrong? Did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed?

Or—" he lowered his voice, playful and intimate—

"are you mad because I didn't kiss you goodbye properly?

Section E whistled loudly.

"OHHH!"

calm down!"

"This is a classroom!"

Keifer chuckled.

"What? I'm just worried about my wife."

That word made my chest tighten.

He leaned even closer.

"Say something, Jay," he whispered.

"Scold me. Tease me. Anything."

Nothing.

He laughed softly, clearly enjoying himself.

"You're really committed to this silent act, huh?"

Then he added with a grin,

"Should I carry you out after class and make it up to you?"

Section E exploded.

"BROOO!"

"That's illegal!"

"Get a room!

My blood boiled.

Keifer straightened, still smiling, completely unaware.

"See?" he said to the class.

"She's pretending I don't exist. Cold-hearted."

The laughter continued.

That was when I finally raised my head.

"London," I said quietly.

The laughter slowed.

Keifer blinked. "London?

"The trip," I added, my voice flat.

He smiled again, brushing it off like nothing.

"What? Are you not done Missing me ?

Something snapped.

My hand moved before my mind could stop it.

SLAP!

The sound cut through the room like glass shattering.

Everything froze.

No laughter.

No teasing.

No chaos.

Section E went completely silent.

"Did she just—"

"Oh my god…"

Keifer didn't move.

He didn't say a single word.

He stood there, eyes wide, frozen in shock—

like the world had stopped making sense.

I picked up my bag.

No explanation.

No tears.

I walked past him, past Section E, past their stunned faces.

No one tried to stop me.

I left the classroom.

Then the hallway.

Then the school.

Behind me, Section E stood frozen in silence—

and Keifer remained exactly where he was,

speechless.
