Chapter 16 - The death of adolescence

i burned my eyes into the sun to feel an inkling of happiness 

from all its radiance i only received fireflies sacks of flickering light

O, how they danced around in the reflection of my eyes.

the bright souls of those who get to enjoy what i missed out on in my adolescence

but those things belong to the wind.

the golden gates of freedom in maturity are opening to me:

with the fading of childhood wanderlusts and wishing comes an ignition that sparks ardour for beholding aspirations now in reach

such is the optimistic man's valiant exchange

a rebirth from stork to brilliant phoenix

so although i may look back in mourning or lament,

the blue sky of attainability now surrounds and overwhelms me

and i am tired of dreaming
