The light of the room was dim, but showed the little silhouette of someone, drops of blood from the person's hand appears as it touches the floor... It was Kelly. She wraps a bandage around her arm and does the same to her ankle, she looks at it for a bit, seeing as blood slowly drips out of the bandage đź©ą, as she was about to add another layer, the voices of students approaches and she gets up immediately.
"It'll have to do!"
Kelly said as she pulled down her sleeves covering up the bandage.
The students entered their classroom and sat down, Reito Aozaki walks in holding a book in his arm, he dropped the book on the table and sits down while his lightly shiny glasses reflected at the students faces.
"H.. Hey! Aren't you going to say something sensei?"
Reji asked as he covered his eyes.
Then Reito looked and said,
"Aren't you gonna greet first? Let's start from there"
With a calm and deep voice.
Soon Reji and Riven stood up and greeted him respectfully. Reito stood up and walked away saying,
" Now I can teach you something. Follow me!"
The went to the board and wrote something.
" As you know that you're warriors and that you have resonance."
Aozaki said
"Huh? What's a resonance?"
Riven asked
"It's the power or special ability that you yield..."
He answered
" .... But these powers are similar to the destructive, deadly and horrifying monsters called the cracks and the hazkes "
He continued
Reito said that cracks were the original creatures with power while the hazkes are just minors.
"Hazkes are more active, physically destructive and more but above all they are savages. The cracks are monster but they're a little more advanced, they're more like us humans, they act like us and walk like us, infact it'd be kinda hard to find a crack more than a hazke."
Reito continued teaching.
Riven then thought about the night he got killed, he remembered that the beast were crazy and actually acted like animals. He raised up his hand and called the sensei.
"Do the cracks also take blood or is it only the hazkes?"
He asked.
Aozaki paused for a moment, then smiled and said,
"It depends on the type you're dealing with actually."
Then Reito looked at the seat beside Riven and noticed it was empty.
"Where's Kelly?"
He asked.
Then Kelly barges in with full speed as she enters the classroom, then Reito grabs her shirt and gets hold of her.
"Uh, uh good morning Mr Aozaki ."
Kelly said with an oddly high pitched voice as he holds her up.
"And where have you been?"
Reito asked
Kelly kept a blank face as she looked at him for a moment, and then told him that she over slept and that she forgot where the classroom was. Then Kelly turned to Reji and saw him looking at her, but not at her face but some where else.
The students arrived at the training room and changed to their training outfits. Kelly came out wearing her own training outfit and styled a bun, Riven looked at her and saw how nice she looked. Reito then came out as they all sat down and him standing.
"Now, as students you all are going to learn the basics. First, your stamina."
He said then grabbed a stick then wacked Riven and Reji's head immediately.
"As a warrior you need to be able to hold yourself, keep your stance and more or less. So we're going to start with something easy."
Reito said.
Then each of the students were on a wooden pole as they held heavy books on their shoulders and pulled out one of their legs out. The students shook their hands and wobbled alot.
"Ha! This isn't so bad Mr. Aozaki."
Kelly said confidently.
Then Riven immediately looked at her, giving her a crazy are you serious face.
"Not hard... Of course this is hard. Even Reji should be complaining."
Riven said as he continued putting on that face.
Then he looked and saw that Reji wasn't moving a muscle at all, but he just closed his eyes.
After some minutes, Kelly became tired and saw Reito Aozaki was sleeping, she sighed and bent her head
"He's here to kill us all ."
She thought.
"Is.. he.. actually... Sleeping?"
Riven asked.
"He's awake you two."
Reji calmly said.
The both of them bent their heads over turning to him and looked at him with cute and confused baby faces.
" But how do you know ?"
Kelly asked.
But before Reji could answer, Reito put up his head and said,
"Well he's right, just wanted to see how observant and patient you all are."
"You were sitting infront of us the whole time."
Kelly said.
"Maybe 🤔 not really."
Reito said as he gave them a smirk.
Then they cried to him begging him so they would come down.
"Sure...."
Reito said nicely.
But as they were about to get down, Reito Aozaki said something that shocked them a bit.
".... But you either use your resonance or you jump down with those books and not letting anyone drop on the ground or fly off."
Riven was confused because he didn't know what to do, he didn't know which resonance he had, and was afraid of falling and hurting himself. Reji lightly jumped down in the exact stance, Kelly tried opening a portal to move out but each time she tried she would open a very small one. Then she saw blood slowly flowing out of her arms, Kelly then jumped down but fell down causing the books to fall off. Drops of blood touched the floor and she immediately cleaned it off.
"What a nice attempt on your first try Kurogane. It isn't so bad right?"
Reito said as he smiled at her.
Then Reito looked at Riven, waiting for him to make his move. Riven wobbled back and forth as he tried to figure out what to do.
"Okay, just jump, jump."
He thought.
As he looked down, he saw that there was no way he could keep the stance if he falls without breaking a rib. As the wooden pole was about to fall off, Riven immediately jumped, the books floated but he immediately grabbed them, then landing on his butt with force.
"Well that's one way to land."
Reito said as he approached the students. He looked at Kelly and told her that he expected her to use her teleportation resonance to easily get out.
"It was hard and I couldn't keep balance."
Kelly explained.
"Well, I'd expect crummy performance from you all since you're in phase one."
Aozaki said nicely as he smiled.
"What would you expect?"
Reji murmured.
After hours of training, the students returned to their rooms. Riven and Reji arrived at their room, Riven jumped on his bed while Reji slowly sat down. Riven panted due to exhaustion. Then he turned to Reji and asked,
"Is this school?"
"Yes but not with this teacher, this one is trying to kill us."
Reji said calmly.
Riven looked at him, seeing his pale skin and dead like looks he asked,
"Are you sure you aren't already dead?"
Reji looked at him with his dead eyes signifying that he was going to kill him and beat him up after and then he asked,
"Do you want to train with me?"
"Sure."
Riven answered.
As he looked outside he saw Kelly carrying a bag and moving suspiciously.
" Hey I'll be right back."
Riven said as he moved out quickly. He reached down stairs and saw Kelly opening a portal to leave.
"Hey, where you off to?"
He asked.
Kelly freaked out when she heard his voice, then she quickly kicked him.
"Oh, sorry but you scared me"
Kelly said nicely at the beginning but slightly rude at the end.
Then she saw Riven smiling as he stood up from the floor, she was confused a bit but blushing a bit too.
She asked him what he was doing here and what he wanted, Riven wanted to know where she was going to, and maybe she could train with him and Reji.
"I..I can't, I'm a bit tired after today's class."
She said.
"Then where are you going to?"
He asked as he walked closer to her.
Kelly said that she was going to her room and that she was just doing some work, she said that she would join them as soon as she was through.
"Okay."
Riven said but he had a feeling that Kelly was lying to her.
Then Reji ran towards them and met them both.
"Riven let's go."
Reji said.
As Riven started walking away Reji stared at Kelly for a while and left as well.
The two of them went to the garden at the back of the school.
"Hey why aren't we training inside?"
Riven asked.
"Because I need to adapt to the light to use my resonance."
Reji said.
"Do you know how to fight or know anything about martial arts?"
He asked as he faced Riven.
Riven pointed at himself as he looked at him in a cute kind of way to be sure if it was him he was asking.
"Well I've fought in school before so maybe yeah."
Riven answered.
Reji took his stance as well as Riven did, then Reji moved swiftly and set out a punch directly at Riven, but he dodged it and quickly moved back, but then Reji immediately grabbed Riven's arm, pulling Riven close to him, then he raised his knee and hits his face. As Riven gets himself he sees Reji wasn't using his legs anymore, then uses one of his legs to kick Reji's own off the ground, it made him ascend into the air. Riven was about to kick him then suddenly he heard him say.
Shadow grip!
Then Riven's arms and legs were stuck, he couldn't move anymore, he looked back and saw his own shadow was holding his body.
"Good stance, interesting."
Reji thought.
Reji came running in to give Riven his attack, but as he got closer he felt a high voltage and surge push him back, he fell down not understanding what happened, but as he looked he saw that Riven was free from the shadow grip. Reji got up but Riven pushed him down with the electric force.

Reji said as he created it to prevent the electric force from reaching him, but then he saw Riven's eyes, they were shining bright yellow with a blurred view of blue, he didn't put on any reaction, no sign of anger, no smile.
"I thought we were training, but this like an intense miniature battle field."
Reji thought for a moment.
His wall was decreasing and cracking at the same time, Reji couldn't hold it any longer.
"I need to try and see his emotions."
He thought.
But as he was about to do so, Riven threw a blast that broke Reji's wall and injured him. Reji fallen on the floor, he couldn't move at all, but he didn't know why, he tried to move his body but it caused more pain, then he thought he was paralyzed. He perceived something strangely strong.
"Wait.... That aura... Is...."
Reji thought for a moment before seeing Riven infront of him. He saw a bright ball quickly approaching him, he opened his eyes widely in shock and fear.
Then ...
The ball disappeared, Reji could move once again, he immediately stood up and saw the destruction in the garden, it looked like if it was burnt and scorched by fiery claws, the flowers were scorched leaving the petals set on fire, the berry bushes shun jet black, the beautifully designed floor and walls were destroyed by the claws and the blasts and the seedlings were dust. Then Reji heard Riven's groan from afar, he immediately rushed over to him and saw a berry bush was over him, Reji quickly removed it, but he was shocked and confused by what he saw ... Riven was still okay, he sustained no injuries, wounds, bruises or cuts, but he looked like if he had taken a refreshing bath.
"What.... How's this even possible?"
Reji thought as he looked at with his emotionless face. Then he pulled him up and carried him.
Shadow... Shadow Wings
He said softly but he couldn't do it because he was weak, so he carried him on his back and slowly walked out. Then a dark figure from a far was seen in the air, it swooped in and silently stepped into the incident, looked around the place, then went to the spot where Reji was caught paralyzed and to the berry bush where riven was laid.
' Interesting.'
The dark figure said.
Riven's eyes opened seeing the ceiling of his room, then he looked down and saw he was laying on his bed, he immediately sat up and looked towards Reji's bed but he wasn't there. As he tried to think about what happened, his head became heavy and had a headache. He looked at the surroundings of the room and saw that his light bulb was switched on but at Reji's corner the light wasn't switched on, then he thought maybe he wasn't back yet and went for some extra training.
"Ugh! What have I gotten myself into now. I'm stuck in a world with very little knowledge. I don't know where I am or how to get home, and I didn't even get to see mom."
He thought.
He realized that his mom might be worried sick about him and might stress herself to find him.
"I gotta get back and see mom and tell her how I'm doing."
He thought again.
He tried standing up but fell on the floor, he tried again but was too weak to even left his leg up right. Then he used his weak body to climb the bed and laid down, Riven thought that he would figure out all this stuff tomorrow once he gained his strength, he closed his eyes and slept.
After a while the door slowly opened revealing light from the hallway, but was consumed by the darkness, soon a figure appears and approached Riven's bed, it was Reji, he stared at Riven with his emotionless eyes for a while, but said nothing and walked to his own bed, then he looked through the window and looked outside for a while, then he saw Kelly running off with a bag somewhere, he continued to look until he saw dim blue glowy light from a far and saw as it slowly disappeared, then he laid down on his bed staring at the ceiling and put on a frown and slept.
