Chapter 3 - THE LIBRARY INCIDENT

One time, Andrea convinced me to help her find a book in the library.

"I need it for a book report," she explained, tugging at my sleeve. "Come on, it'll be quick!"

I sighed but followed her anyway. The library was almost empty, the shelves towering over us like quiet giants.

"What book are we looking for?" I asked.

Andrea pulled out a crumpled note from her pocket. "Something about a lost prince? Or was it a cursed prince? Ugh, I forgot."

"You forgot the title?"

"It had a cool name! But now I can't remember!"

I sighed again. "You really—"

Before I could finish, Andrea spun around, her ponytail whipping through the air, and pressed a finger against my lips.

"Shhh!" she whispered.

I froze.

"You're too loud!" she whispered again, grinning.

I glared at her, swatting her hand away. "You're the one talking too much."

We ended up spending half an hour searching, only to realize the book had already been borrowed. Andrea groaned in defeat while I just shook my head.

"Next time, write the title down properly," I said.

"Next time, you should memorize it for me," she shot back.

I scoffed. "That's not my job."

Andrea laughed, nudging me with her elbow. "But you'd do it anyway, wouldn't you?"

I didn't answer.

Because she was right.
