The last day of school came too quickly.
I thought I would feel relieved.
But as I packed up my things, I realized— This was the last time I'd sit beside him.
The last time we'd be us.
I waited.
I waited for him to say something.
To notice.
To stop me.
But he didn't.
And when the bell rang, I walked out the door without looking back.
Because if I did— I knew I wouldn't be able to leave.
