Despite the devastating power of the four united, the situation was becoming critical, because every enemy slain dissolved into mist only to resurrect a few seconds later, their body intact and their numbers multiplied tenfold. The successive waves of assailants eventually isolated them in different corners of the immense hall. No respite was granted to them: barely had one spectre collapsed before it was already reborn farther away, even more aggressive.
Klein was pushed back toward an area of massive pillars. He used his katana to slice through the limbs of Spectrum members who tried to encircle him, each movement precise and economical. Blood spurted onto the floor, forming dark pools that contrasted with the light stone.
