Chapter 54 - Chapter 54 – Words Spoken Too Soon

Aunt Eve welcomed PK at the entrance with a warm smile—and a sharp, observant gaze. She took a moment longer than necessary, openly assessing him.

Tall. Nearly six feet. Well-built. Calm posture. Clear eyes.

And that quiet confidence that didn't try to announce itself.

She nodded to herself, then said loudly, far too casually,

"No wonder these girls fell for you."

Time stopped.

PK froze.

For the first time in a long while, his composure cracked—just a little.

He turned slowly toward Lana and Luna.

Everything suddenly aligned.

The constant staring in class.

The synchronized blushes.

The awkward pauses.

The way their eyes followed him without realizing it.

Understanding dawned.

He didn't say a word.

He only smiled—softly—and walked inside.

Behind him, the twins panicked.

"Aunt!" Lana whispered sharply.

"We didn't say anything to him!"

"How could you say that?" Luna added, flustered.

"What will he think now?"

Aunt Eve only chuckled.

"If he's half as smart as you think, he already knows."

Dinner was served at exactly 8 p.m.

The table was filled with warmth, laughter, and carefully chosen topics. The twins relaxed little by little, though their eyes kept drifting back to PK.

PK, however, noticed someone else.

Aunt Eve.

She was striking—graceful, poised, and undeniably beautiful. Her face resembled the twins', but time had added a mature elegance rather than taking anything away. If someone said she was thirty, no one would question it.

The dinner passed smoothly.

Soon, PK stood to leave.

Lana and Luna walked him to the car, the night air cool and quiet.

"…PK," Lana began hesitantly.

"About what our aunt said—"

"We hope you didn't misunderstand—" Luna added quickly.

Before either could finish—

PK pulled them both into a gentle embrace.

The twins stiffened in shock.

Then—

He kissed each of them lightly on the cheek.

"I like you both," he said simply, smiling.

"Don't worry."

And with that, he stepped into the car.

The door closed.

The engine started.

The car drove away.

Lana and Luna stood there, frozen.

Their faces burned red.

Their hearts raced wildly—once again, perfectly in sync.

Too soon?

Maybe.

But neither of them wanted to rewind that moment.

Inside the manor, Aunt Eve watched from the doorway, smiling knowingly.

"Oh dear," she murmured.

"This is going to be interesting."
