A deafening boom echoed across the void.
Another massive meteorite exploded under the aftershocks of Odin and Thanos's battle. This had happened countless times already. The fragments that once dotted the star system—some as large as a thousand kilometers—were no match for the titanic clash between two gods. Yet, despite the destruction, the two combatants showed no signs of fatigue. Their fight now carried them toward the nearest planet.
This world was enormous, about 100,000 kilometers in diameter. Far from its sun, it lay in near-perpetual darkness, its frozen surface glittering under faint starlight. Once tranquil, it now braced for annihilation.
Thanos, having blocked Odin's attack, was carried along by the tremendous force of the collision, slammed into the planet's atmosphere. Here, gravity was thirty times stronger than normal, and atmospheric pressure over twenty times that of a typical planet. For most, this would have been a lethal disadvantage. For Thanos, however, it was merely an annoyance.
Before he could escape into the void again, Odin's spear emitted a blinding light, releasing an energy blast aimed directly at him. Odin knew the planet's gravity and atmosphere would hinder him; Thanos could not simply dodge freely. He pushed with his free hand, sending a violent gust of wind forward. Thanos barely evaded, the force of the strike pushing him back several kilometers.
The planet's frozen surface bore the brunt of Odin's might. Tens of kilometers of ice and rock exploded outward, forming a crater as energy and debris scattered across the landscape. Odin prepared another assault, but Thanos used the planet's pressure to his advantage, bursting upward through the atmosphere in a counterstrike. His Tyrant Blade slashed toward Odin, slicing through the icy clouds.
Odin reacted swiftly, twisting in midair to evade. The blade's destructive energy struck the planet below, carving a gash over twenty kilometers long. Undeterred, Thanos swung again, forcing Odin to raise the Spear of Eternity to block. The collision produced a tremendous bang, hurling Odin back into the planet's atmosphere with immense force.
A faint smile appeared on Thanos's face as he followed, descending into the thick, pressurized air to continue the duel. Despite the intense gravity, Thanos moved with precision and speed. Odin, accustomed to the freedom of the void, struggled to parry each attack, his movements slightly slowed.
As the battle raged, the planet itself began to pay the price. The atmosphere tore under the stress of their blows, gases venting into space. Within thirty minutes, atmospheric pressure fell from twenty atmospheres to standard levels. The ice and frost covering the surface shattered, fragments littering the landscape. One strike nearly split the planet in two, though its cooled core prevented magma from erupting.
A sharp ding! rang out. Odin had blocked one of Thanos's strikes, catching his breath before immediately launching another surge of divine power. Thanos, smiling faintly, finally recognized a weakness. Odin had not fought at this intensity for some time; combined with the planet's gravity, his reflexes lagged a fraction behind. To maintain the advantage, he had to expend more energy than usual.
Thanos dodged another strike, countering with a swing of the Tyrant Blade. Odin's Spear of Eternity blocked it, sparks of energy cascading outward. Just as he prepared a follow-up attack, Thanos sensed movement behind him. He twisted midair and confirmed Odin was not attacking from that angle—but the energy had not vanished.
Odin's calculated strike had hit the planet's core, triggering a violent explosion. Rumbling echoed across the surface, quickly fading into silence as the atmosphere dissipated. Sound needed air to travel, and the vacuum now surrounding the planet rendered it mute. Seconds later, the planet itself shattered, fragments propelled into the void in every direction.
Thanos's eyes narrowed in realization. Odin had exploited the planet's instability, destroying it to create an opening. But even freed from its surface, he could not underestimate Odin's strength. He landed on a massive fragment of rock, using its momentum to propel himself toward the God of Asgard. Every ounce of energy conserved mattered in a battle that could last an eternity.
Meanwhile, outside the shattered star system, the war had become lopsided. With the deaths of the Warriors Three, Thor's incapacitation, and Odin engaged in battle, Asgard's forces were in peril. The Black Order's might was overwhelming. Each strike Thanos made inflicted catastrophic casualties on the Asgardian ranks.
Temple II fired a massive energy blast, hitting a large enemy warship. It exploded instantly, but even this was only a temporary reprieve. The Asgardian fleet's smaller vessels had become mobile coffins; their medium and large ships, while powerful, could not penetrate the shields of Black Order frigates. Casualties mounted with each passing minute, and Thanos's encirclement tightened.
On Asgard's main ship, Sif gently carried Thor, placing him on a medical bed. Mjolnir, shattered almost in two, lay beside him. Thor's face was pale, nearly devoid of blood, unconscious and barely breathing. Sif's heart ached at the sight.
Data streams appeared across the room, revealing the extent of Thor's injuries. Sif's eyes widened in panic. Twenty-five bones broken, over fifty percent of his muscles contused, and thirty percent of his skin damaged. Worse, destructive energy still coursed through him, relentlessly eroding his body. If not eliminated, it would kill him.
Sif's power alone was insufficient to purify this energy. Only Odin, or the divine intervention of Hydamul or the Queen, could save him. She gritted her teeth, knowing that while the battlefield raged, Thor's life hung by a thread. Every passing second brought him closer to the edge.
Outside, the shattered remnants of the planet floated silently in space. Energy and debris mingled with the void, a testament to the titanic struggle between Odin and Thanos. The war had become a battle of survival and attrition—both for Asgard and for the Gods themselves.
Every strike, every energy surge, every calculated maneuver mattered. For Odin, for Thor, and for the fate of Asgard, the stakes could not be higher.
