Chapter 20 - Summoning

The roaring sound lasted for a while before the cloud mass began to rapidly dissipate.

The light in front of Jiang Yan was blocked.

A creature three and a half meters tall, with two thick purple horns curving back to its occiput, a pair of purple vertical pupils, and a maw full of sharp teeth revealed by its grin.

Its shoulders were two meters wide, its entire body extremely muscular and powerful, its upper body muscles forming an exaggerated inverted triangle, and its rigid purple skin shimmered with a metallic luster under the light.

Sharp, curved barbs, over ten centimeters long, grew from its elbows, knees, and heels.

Information about the monster before him also appeared in Jiang Yan's mind.

Tyrant: A creature from the World of Evil, feeding on flesh and blood, preferring flesh and blood and ores rich in energy!

Violet Gold Body: Its skin provides extremely high defense, and it can actively harden its skin, increasing its toughness by several levels!

Tyrant's Power: Temporarily increases strength, speed, and defense; the more injured it is, the higher the amplification!

Will of Evil: The Tyrant's consciousness is extremely chaotic, and any psychic attacks or control have minimal effect on it!

After just one look, Jiang Yan's eyes lit up: 'This is practically a Super Berserker!'

High attack, high defense, high speed, and also extremely resistant to psychic abilities!

"It would be even more perfect if it had energy attacks," Jiang Yan lamented slightly.

"Roar!" The Tyrant in front of him let out a low growl, then spoke somewhat awkwardly: "Master!"

Jiang Yan was startled upon hearing this, then quickly asked, "How do you know the language of this world?"

The Tyrant rumbled, "After appearing in this world, the understanding of this world's language from Master's mind appeared in mine."

"You'll stay here from now on. With a body this size, it's not convenient to act normally," Jiang Yan said, looking at the Tyrant.

The Tyrant nodded: "Yes, Master."

Jiang Yan seemed to remember something and continued, "You cannot step outside of here, nor can you take action without my command."

He was afraid this thing might accidentally kill Han Qi and the group of Bodyguards living nearby.

Having finished speaking, Jiang Yan immersed himself in his mind.

pearl of the abyss: 0/400

Next to the pearl, another small purple light spot appeared, representing the Tyrant's existence.

'It seems every time a summoning ends, the next one requires double the cost.' Jiang Yan looked at the number, his expression calm.

If this continued, after ten times it would be over fifty thousand, and after twenty times, over fifty-two million. To continue summoning, the scale of his operations would have to grow larger and larger.

Thinking this, Jiang Yan walked straight up to the second floor, leaving the Tyrant on the first: 'Forget it, thinking too much is tiring. Time to sleep.'

Just as Jiang Yan entered dreamland, on the other side of the city, some people couldn't sleep.

Several fire trucks were parked in front of a burned-down single-story house in the northern suburbs.

A young firefighter frowned upon seeing the staircase and elevator entrance before him, turning to shout outside, "Captain! There's an elevator and stairs here! There might be people below!"

A young man in a fire suit was wondering why so many vehicles were parked here without anyone watching them when he heard his team member call him.

He hurried over. Looking at the staircase entrance, which was blackened by fire and still emitting black smoke, he shouted to the people behind him, "Grab oxygen tanks! One person come down with me to check."

"Yes!" Soon, a firefighter brought the equipment. The two men, carrying their gear and turning on their lights, headed inside.

After descending seven or eight meters down the pitch-black stairwell, a large door appeared before them.

The two exchanged a look and walked straight in. A massive space appeared before them.

Their flashlights illuminated everything around them, but upon seeing what was inside, both men's expressions changed to horror.

"Holy crap!!!" The Captain stared at the countless charred corpses revealed by their flashlights.

"Get out now! Notify the Inspectorate Bureau!" After just a quick glance, the two men, their scalps tingling, quickly ran back up.

There were at least several hundred charred bodies... An hour later, the area in front of the house was filled with vehicles belonging to the Law Enforcement Bureau.

Bureau Chief Zeng Jianbai stood not far away, his eyes bloodshot, watching the corpses being carried up from below.

An Inspector Captain came up to him: "Bureau Chief, we found out, this was an underground black boxing ring..."

Before he could finish, Zeng Jianbai raised a hand to interrupt him: "Stop wasting time. Do you think I don't know what this place is? Get to the point."

"Yes, sir!" The Captain immediately skipped the unnecessary details and continued.

"Forensics found signs of incisions on the abdomens of these charred bodies, and since the bodies did not curl up when burned, they concluded that all these people were killed before the fire."

At this point, his expression was extremely grave, and Zeng Jianbai looked the same.

The killing of hundreds of people was a major case that could shock the entire nation. If this news got out, even the leadership of Liuyang City would have to be replaced.

Thinking this, he immediately looked at the Captain: "Did the surveillance downstairs capture anything?"

"All the surveillance downstairs was burned and is unusable," the Inspector Captain shook his head.

Thinking this, he looked at everyone present and then back at the corpses, his expression hardening: 'This matter absolutely cannot be ruled as homicide. This many deaths is already a terrorist attack. It can only be ruled as an accidental fire!'

Thinking this, he looked at the Captain sternly: "Immediately confiscate the phones of everyone present. This matter cannot be reported yet!"

"Yes, sir!" The Inspector Captain looked into Zeng Jianbai's eyes and immediately knew what he intended to do.

Zeng Jianbai ignored him, walked outside, and began calling the Mayor.

'As long as this case is ruled as an accidental fire, at most it will be a problem for the fire department, and it won't implicate me.' His eyes flickered. He had to do this for his career; after all, it wasn't his family who died.

Time came to the next day, a little past eight in the morning, outside Nanfeng Manor in the Western Suburbs.

RUMBLE!

Li Yong rode a black motorcycle and stopped at the entrance. He glanced at the sign: 'This is the place.'

"What are you doing? This is private property, turn around immediately!" A furious shout came, and a black-clad Bodyguard walked out, looking at Li Yong with hostility.

Li Yong glanced at him and said, "Mr. Jiang Yan called for me."

When the Bodyguard heard the name Jiang Yan, his hostile expression immediately changed into a smile: "Ah, you're Mr. Jiang's person. Please come in. Would you like me to show you the way?"

Li Yong shook his head and looked behind the Bodyguard: "No need, the one guiding me is here."

Han Qi, wearing black trousers and a white shirt stretched taut by his muscles, walked towards the entrance: "You go back to your duties. This young man is Li Yong; he's one of us now."

"Understood, Captain Han!" Seeing this, the Bodyguard smiled at Li Yong and retreated.

"Let's go, follow me." Han Qi led him toward the villa.

Li Yong followed behind, observing the surroundings of the manor.

The two quickly arrived in front of the central three-story villa. The villa door was open.

Han Qi glanced at it: "Go on in. Mr. Jiang should be awake by now."

As soon as the two stepped inside the villa, they stopped dead, their expressions drastically changing.

Li Yong looked at the monster, three and a half meters tall and entirely purple, standing with its back to them. His breathing became rapid: "What the hell is that monster? Am I still in the real world?"

The purple monster turned around at that moment, grinned, revealing a mouth full of sharp teeth as it looked at the two humans before it. However, it neither moved nor spoke, merely watching them silently.

Han Qi felt his scalp prickle as the monster looked at him with the eyes of a predator, but he quickly realized this thing must have been summoned by Jiang Yan, or it wouldn't just be standing there watching them.

Seeing the Tyrant standing in the middle of the hall, blocking the passage, Han Qi thought for a moment. He decided not to call Jiang Yan but instead took out his phone to make a call.

"No need to call, I'm coming down." A calm voice came from behind the purple monster.

Jiang Yan, wearing jeans and a white short-sleeved shirt, holding a coffee cup, walked out from behind the Tyrant with a lazy expression.
