Chapter 3 - The Gathering

The atmosphere inside the Archives' main hall turned heavy.

The Guild Masters of the Warriors, Sanctifiers, and Archives had all gathered. Outside, the war had temporarily halted, but the tension inside the hall was suffocating.

Aanya, the Guild Master of the Sanctifiers, broke the silence first, accusing the Warriors directly.

Arcon, the Warriors' Guild Master, denied every accusation without hesitation.

The argument escalated quickly.

"Didn't expect to spend my weekend like this," Alex muttered. "But honestly? This is entertaining. Let's see who kills who first."

"This is bad," Kai said quietly. "The Warriors are denying everything, and the Sanctifiers are furious. If this keeps going, war will break out again. And if the Warriors are truly innocent…"

He paused, thinking.

"Then whoever did this planned it perfectly."

Alex nodded. "This might be the darkest day for the Sanctifiers. Months of effort, gone overnight."

"And with the World Guild War only fifteen days away," Kai added, a slow smile forming, "without their church, they're practically finished. They might even come in last."

His smile darkened.

"Bro… that smile is scary," Alex muttered.

"Don't act like you're not enjoying this," Kai replied. "Those Sanctifiers have always been a pain. Even when we go invisible, they track us with their position skills. What's the point of stealth then?"

He paused, eyes narrowing.

"And think about it. The war started near our territory. The Warriors had no reason to start it here. But the Sanctifiers? They had the most to gain. If the fight had happened somewhere else, we wouldn't even be involved."

He paused for a moment.

"So tell me… is Rhea involved in this?" Rhea, the Guild Master of the Archives.

Kai opened the chat and typed a message.

Ahh… just wondering. Are you involved in this?

"So you're asking Rhea?" Alex asked.

Kai nodded.

"She looks genuinely confused," Alex said. "If she were behind this, she'd be controlling the situation already."

A reply came in moments later.

Oh hell no. I'm not involved in this mess. And now I'm stuck between two idiots. The Sanctifiers clearly suspect us. I don't even know what to do.

Kai exhaled slowly.

"Yeah… she's not involved," he said. "She's just as lost as we are."
