Hours later, Lucille stirred awake to the faint scent of stew and the gentle hum of the evening wind. Her eyelashes fluttered before she slowly blinked open her eyes, pulling herself out of drowsiness.
For a moment, she felt as if her mind was fogged. She blankly stared at the dimly lit room. Faint sunlight filtered through the tiny gap between the curtains.
"Mm...?"
Something warm brushed against her hand; the touch felt familiar. Then, a second nudge before a soft, worried whine followed.
"Woof..."
Blinking, Lucille turned her head. A faint smile was drawn on her lips when she saw Dobby and Ponyo pressing close to her. They stood right beside the bed.
"Woof!"
Dobby barked, brushing his head on Lucille's cheek as his round dark eyes gleamed with concern. His soft fur tickled her face.
"I'm fine. Just... a bit tired." Lucille chuckled. She reached a hand, stroking Dobby's head before doing the same to Ponyo.
