Chapter 30 - Office

Friday, September 25th.

[Infinite Money System]

[Total System Balance: ¥1,390.00]

[Available System Balance: ¥1,390.00]

[Personal Balance: ¥8,380.00]

Lin Feng dismissed the system and looked around the room.

His three roommates were already gathered, ready for their daily meeting.

"What's the report?" he asked. "Zhang Wei, you first."

Zhang Wei pushed his laptop aside and cleared his throat.

"I spent most of yesterday fixing bugs from the payment update," he said. "Nothing major - just a few edge cases that slipped through. I also made some UI adjustments and optimized the backend. Loading times should be noticeably faster now."

"Oh, and the legacy orders have all been fulfilled so everything should be using the new system now," he added.

Lin Feng nodded. "Good. Chen Ming?"

Chen Ming leaned forward with his usual enthusiasm.

"Market-wise, people still think we're running some kind of scam," he said with a slight grimace. "But despite that, our user base is actually growing. Word of mouth is doing its thing."

He pulled out his phone and showed the screen to the others.

"I also created a group chat for all our customers. Figured it'd be useful for feedback and communication." He glanced at Zhang Wei. "Brother Zhang's ticket system might take a while to implement properly, so this should work as a temporary solution."

Zhang Wei nodded in agreement. "That's actually a good idea. Less pressure on me since the mini program framework doesn't give me much freedom to implement some of these things."

Lin Feng also nodded approvingly.

"Focus on the app's core functionality for now," he said to Zhang Wei. "The group chat can handle customer feedback in the meantime."

"Got it," Zhang Wei replied.

Lin Feng then turned to Li Jun. "And you?"

Li Jun pulled out his phone and scrolled through his notes.

"Here's the data from yesterday," he said.

He began reading aloud.

"Total orders: 22. Items sold: 41. Revenue: 356 yuan. Cost of goods sold: 214 yuan."

He swiped to another screen.

"Current assets: we have 2,857 yuan in cash. Remaining inventory is valued at 882 yuan at cost."

He looked up.

"Noodles are our most popular item by far. And our most active window is the evening slot - just like we expected."

Lin Feng did the mental math. Gross profit of 142 yuan. A solid improvement from day one.

"Anything else?" he asked.

Li Jun nodded. "We might need a restock soon. Some items are running low."

Lin Feng agreed.

"We're heading into the weekend," he said. "We'll restock this evening. Chen Ming and I will analyze the sales trends and figure out what to order more of - and which products to slowly phase out."

He looked around at the group.

"Well then," he said, pushing himself up. "Time for day three."

Lin Feng completed his morning deliveries without any issues, then went to class.

The class passed uneventfully. When it ended, he left campus.

As he walked through the city streets, his mind drifted to recent events.

After encountering Yu Shen, he had been thinking more seriously about the path he was going to take.

At the moment, he was planning to co-found a company with Yu Shen. And if things went well, he would also become a shareholder in their delivery business.

But that was just the beginning.

He was planning to go on the offensive - hunting down future talents, recruiting them, investing in them before anyone else realized their potential.

If he wanted to manage all of this properly, he would need a separate entity of his own.

A holdings company.

The idea was simple. He would transfer his shares in the delivery business to this holdings company. For Yu Shen and any future talents he invested in, he would always invest as the holdings - not as an individual.

This would make management far easier.

Obviously, he would need to set up proper protections for his partners. They would need assurance that the holdings company would always be 100% owned by him. Otherwise, there would be risk - if others held shares in the holdings, they could potentially exert control over all the companies beneath it.

But he didn't think it would be a big deal. A written contract with clear terms should suffice.

At that moment, he arrived at his destination.

The local Market Supervision Administration office.

He walked in.

...

The process was straightforward. He submitted his proposed company name and two other alternative names for availability verification. The clerk informed him that he would be contacted once the check was complete.

With that done, he left.

But he didn't return to campus.

For proper registration, he also needed a registered office address. While a virtual office address would be cheaper, he decided against it.

If he was going to do this, he would do it properly.

He needed a genuine office space. Besides, he could find another use for a genuine office space.

Lin Feng arrived at a commercial building not far from campus.

He walked into the leasing office and was immediately greeted by a young woman in professional attire. She had short black hair and a bright smile.

"Good afternoon! Looking for office space today?"

"Yes," Lin Feng nodded. "Something small. Just for one person."

"Of course! Follow me."

She led him down a corridor, gesturing to various doors as they passed.

"We have several options available," she said. "Our smallest units start at 800 yuan per month - about 10 square meters. Basic amenities, shared bathroom facilities."

She stopped at a door and opened it. The room was cramped, with barely enough space for a desk and chair.

Lin Feng shook his head slightly.

She smiled, unfazed.

"I figured. Let me show you something better."

They continued down the hall until she stopped at another unit.

"This one is 1,500 yuan per month. 20 square meters. Private bathroom, air conditioning, fiber internet included."

She opened the door.

Lin Feng stepped inside. The space was modest but functional - a proper desk, decent lighting, a small window overlooking the street below.

"I'll take this one," he said without hesitation.

The saleswoman's smile widened. "Excellent choice."

The paperwork took about thirty minutes. Deposit, first month's rent, identification verification. Standard procedures.

By the time everything was signed and stamped, Lin Feng was 4,000 yuan lighter.

He received the key and made his way up to his new office.

...

Lin Feng pushed open the door and stepped inside.

He looked around slowly, taking it all in.

Not bad.

The space was clean too.

He walked over to the desk and sat down, running his hand across the smooth surface.

This is mine now.

He pulled out his notebook and flipped to a fresh page.

The name verification would take a few days. In the meantime, he should begin preparing to fill the other documents for submission.

He clicked his pen.

Time to get to work.
