"I don't want to be a teacher?"

He looked at her.
"What you really want is to help people. That's why you became the class monitor."
He paused.
"Picture this - if I told you that being the head of the incubator program would help lots of students, would it make it easier to accept?"
She didn't answer immediately.
He continued.
"The earlier incubator program was unchecked and exploited students. It even led to 'that' incident."
His expression turned serious.
"But with you, you can prevent all that."
He met her eyes.
"What do you think now?"
Sun Xiao clenched her fists.
"I'll definitely do it."
Her voice was firm.
"I won't let it fall into the wrong hands."
She turned to him and bowed.
"Thank you for helping me make the decision."
Then she straightened up and left, walking briskly in the opposite direction.
Lin Feng watched her go.

He hadn't even gotten to give her his propaganda yet.
He sighed.

"Are you even human?"
"Well, my memory is pretty good," he said simply.
He tilted his head.
"Is there something you wanted to talk about? I'm about to go to work."
She looked down.
"Today is... our final day of streaming before the break, right?" she murmured.
He nodded.
"That's right."
"Then..."
She fidgeted slightly.
"Can we maybe go get some drinks? Just the two of us. To celebrate."
Lin Feng paused.
"I'm sorry, but…"
She looked at him.
He sighed internally.
"I don't think I'll be available for that. As you said, I'm quite busy. While we could get some drinks, it would be late into the night, and it wouldn't be good for either of us. You know? With midterms and all. Not to mention your training."
"How about this," he said. "We can postpone it to the weekend. Saturday night, we can drink and celebrate all we want."
He smiled at her.

"Then Saturday it is."
She beamed at him, then turned and ran off, her steps light with excitement.
Lin Feng watched her until she was completely gone.
