Krenn spent a full day in the improvised prison with two other Dark mages, cursing Garron, the royal army, Aleric, and his own poor luck. The other whelps kept sitting there and hoping for the best, until zombie guards took them away one by one.
Krenn had no idea what happened to them, but the last person left an entire hour ago.
If Krenn were stronger, he'd be able to take out the guards and escape earlier. But instead, he didn't even try. He didn't even try to put a curse on Aleric now—except one time, after which a zombie punched him hard enough to explain that using spells was stupid.
And the royal army wasn't good enough to defeat Aleric's forces despite all their numbers and weapons!
His thoughts were interrupted when the leather flap covering the entrance to his wagon was lifted, and a zombie soldier looked inside.
"Get out, Dark mage."
