Xarion leaned half-dead against the sofa, casting a speechlessly flat look at Nix.
"Why send me to beat them up? Why don't you go yourself?"
Nix flashed Xarion an ingratiating smile. "Well, they are my older and younger cousins after all. It'd be a bit embarrassing for me to beat them up myself."
"It's embarrassing for you, but for a visiting guest like me, it's somehow perfectly fine?" Xarion was utterly speechless.
Nix reasoned with shameless confidence, "It's fine if you don't hit them—you can just poison them to death with your sharp tongue instead."
Xarion raised his hand and tossed an ice orb right at Nix's head. "…Before I poison them to death, I can poison you first. Care to try?"
"No, no, no!" Nix clutched his head and quickly begged for mercy. "Xarion, you misunderstood me! I meant you're razor-tongued when you speak, not that your mouth is literally poisonous!"
He would have been better off not explaining at all.
