Marcus shook his head slowly, inhaling deeply as he licked his lips. The drowsiness finally cleared from his eyes as he stared at us.
Mark's eyes widened.
"Ah," he rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly, grey pupils shrinking. "I fell asleep, didn't I?"
I cleared my throat, facing forward.
"I think I speak for all of us when I say we should get a good night's sleep. Tomorrow we'll deal with everything and head to Park's place."
I stood up.
Jerry cleared his throat, standing up as he dusted his clothes.
"Right."
"So right."
I let out a somber sigh.
The next morning, we woke up early, prepared, and had breakfast with Mary and Katie — Katie never stopped spamming the word "Naruhodo" as we ate — and I explained to Mary that we were going to do something important that might change our lives for the better… or worst.
"Does it involve killing those monsters?" Mary asked.
"Probably," I replied. "I mean, we don't know yet. That's what we're going to find out."
