Chapter 4 - Construction shop

Reincarnated as a castle = Day 10

Ohhh?

This is interesting!

Inside the system shop, there were three smaller shops I could access right away.

The first one was the Construction Shop.

When I opened it, the display at the top immediately showed how many resources I currently had.

10 points, 0 stone, 0 wood, 0 food.

AHA!

This resource display reminded me so much of the old RTS games I used to play when I was a literal kid. Stuff like Age of Kingdoms or Heroes of Muscles and Wisdom… or something along those lines, where you would need to gather and manage resources, build things, then recruit units to fight others!

I figured I could get stone from breaking chunks of rock or mining, and wood from chopping down trees. That all made sense.

But food?

What the fuck is food now?

As a castle, I sure as hell didn't need to eat anything. So… was the food for living things that might end up inside me in the future?

Or—ohoho—would it be like in RTS games, where I could spend food to summon minions?!

If it was the latter, that would be amazing!

I doubted it would work exactly like that, but still, I was getting hyped.

Maybe there is some kind of instruction manual or tutorial the system could give me… if I ask nicely?

So I did that.

"System-san, do you have any tutorial for me?"

"Please?"

"System-san?"

"Or... system-chan?"

"System onii-chan?"

...

AAAAA! IT'S NO USE!

No matter how much I begged, the system ignored me!

Perhaps, there's no tutorial in the first place?

Well, that sucks.

But nothing I could do about it for now.

So, back to the Construction Shop.

There was a tab labeled "Repair." When I focused on it—whoosh!—the system instantly highlighted the damaged areas and displayed their repair costs.

I was even given the choice to do a magic repair, but with points of course! And the system even highlighted it with a sparkling gold border!

Oh god! The system was really thirsty for my points!

Which only made me want to save them even more. I had decided. F2P for life! Or at the very least, I'd stockpile a decent amount of points for emergencies… or better things in the future.

Anyway, aside from repair costs, I noticed another tab labeled "Resources."

And to my amazement, I could directly exchange points for materials!

Exchange:

1 points -> 5 wood

1 points -> 5 stone

1 points -> 1 food

And written in shiny golden text:

HOT DEAL! Expires in the next 59 minutes! 2× resources purchased with points!

OH SHIT! I FUCKING KNEW IT!

The system was really trying to scam me! If I exchanged my ten points right now, I could literally repair twenty broken roofs!

Kakaka! I was so glad I'd refused to spend points on repairs earlier. What a bullet dodged!

Well… if resource costs were like this, I guess it is fairly reasonable…

Actually…

NO!

What if this resource conversion tab… IS ACTUALLY ANOTHER SCAM?!

Tch, like hell I'd be tricked that easily!

So I moved on.

Now then, there was only one tab left in the Construction Shop.

UPGRADE CONSTRUCTION SHOP.

The Construction Shop was currently level one, so I wondered what upgrading it to level two would unlock.

I took a look.

And—whoa! It actually looked pretty good.

Requirement: System Shop Level 2, Castle Core level 1

Upgrade Cost: 100 points

Unlocks: Land expansion, building construction
