Rai looked at the clock again, though he wasn't even sure why anymore. His eyes barely registered the time as he turned back to his laptop, fingers continuing to move across the keyboard. His vision felt slightly heavy now, strained, his eyelids threatening to drop with every passing second.
This was way past his limit.
But he kept going.
Why?
Because he had to finish what he started.
At least the first three pages of the assignment.
Of course.
Rai typed away, a little more forcefully now, flipping pages of the books scattered around him. One was balanced awkwardly on his lap, another open beside him, its pages already crumpled at the corners from constant use. He skimmed through lines quickly, barely pausing before typing again.
He stretched slightly, rolling his shoulders, letting out a quiet breath...
Then suddenly paused.
A sound.
A car.
More specifically,
Zade's car.
