First of all, Zade didn't actually think Rai stunk.
He just needed a wildcard excuse to shove Rai into the house. There was no way in hell Zade was letting him step foot out of this place in the state he was in.
Deep down, Zade knew he was being frustratingly overbearing, and honestly, he couldn't even blame Rai for thinking he was a massive asshole right now. But looking at Rai, it was obvious the guy was completely unhinged by the trauma of it all. Zade couldn't just stand by and watch him feed into that madness by going back there.
He knew exactly what Rai wanted to do. If Rai went back to that school, he wouldn't just grab his bag, which didn't even matter anyway, since his precious wallet and phone were already crammed into his pockets. Zade had seen them there.
