Rai muttered, cutting himself off after a long pause and a few deep breaths. The bastard's heartbeat was thudding against his neck a little more aggressively now, and though Rai tried to sound firm, his voice completely gave away his unsureness.
"Oh, I know. You don't have to," Zade murmured into his neck. Rai shuddered, leaning backward a little in the process. It was almost as if he were giving in, unconsciously pushing himself further into Zade's space.
They had done exactly this, and it had ended weirdly. Yet, neither of them quite understood how that strange tension had spun out into them not seeing each other for a whole week.
That argument had felt serious at the moment, but looking back, it was just a sudden realization they'd both had. It should have been over right then and there, but instead, they had avoided each other for more than seven days.
