The apartment was warm, quiet, and thick with a heavy, simmering tension. With Zade's broad frame pinning him securely to the sofa and their fingers tightly locked together against the cushions, Rai's usual sharp defense completely melted away.
His lips felt swollen and burning from the intensity of the kiss, and his breathing came in short, uneven hitches.
He wanted so badly to glare up at Zade, to summon some semblance of sharp attitude or control, but his body stubbornly refused to cooperate under the relentless warmth and those pressings on him.

Zade released Rai's hand only to reach for the hem of Rai's shirt. He gathered the fabric with practiced ease, pulling it upward in one smooth, deliberate motion.
Rai instinctively raised his arms overhead, allowing the shirt to slide off his shoulders and fall carelessly onto the living room floor.
