~{DEBORAH'S POV}~
*
The D-day…
"Tighter," I instructed and Peace did as she was told.
"Are you sure this isn't too tight?" Dally worriedly asked. She came back early this morning because she couldn't afford to miss such an important day.
"This is good. I need to be fit to be able to move with ease," I simply said and signaled for her to tie it.
Once Peace tied my corset properly, I went to take a seat so Dally could braid my hair in a fish tail so it wouldn't hinder me.
As she worked on my hair, I watched myself in the mirror with nothing in mind except to win at all cost.
I couldn't afford to lose now after all the fervent practice.
"I have faith in you, my queen," Dally suddenly said as though she read my mind.
"Thank you, Lady Dally," I said but didn't smile.
I hadn't smiled since I left the dining room that very day when Peculiar made a heart wrenching announcement.
That was all it took for my love to vanish entirely and I no longer cared about Lauren or his kingdom.
