Chapter 69 - Chapter 69: Can Vampires Have Children?

"How do you prove your identity?"

Steve Rogers didn't care whether someone was an ordinary vampire or a mutated one — if they provoked him, he would beat them down without hesitation.

Chad Norma, trembling from the recent beating that had somewhat cured his bloodthirsty hysteria, took out a ring and handed it over.

"This ring can prove my identity. Let Nisha see it, and she'll know I'm really her brother!"

Taking the ring from Steve, Nisha's thoughts were pulled away from the idea of getting a room with Steve immediately.

She examined the ring carefully, her beautiful eyes filled with confusion and fury. Her slender hands clenched so tightly that the pale blue veins stood out.

"Are you really Chad Norma?"

"I am!"

"Why is this happening? Who made you like this?!"

Only then did Nisha realize that this was indeed her brother — someone she had met only a few times but remembered clearly.

Chad Norma had always been ridiculed by their father, King North, as a useless failure. Even in political marriages, he was ignored as a disgrace to the royal family.

Now, looking at his grotesque form — neither human nor vampire — she could barely contain her rage.

Chad Norma began to explain, his voice filled with bitterness.

King North had long been researching the genetic evolution of vampires. With modern technology, he finally made progress in cracking the secrets of blood genes and attempting to remove their weaknesses.

Countless vampires were sacrificed during this research, which explained why the vampire population remained stable despite thousands of years of existence.

One day, when an experiment required royal blood, Chad Norma was dragged onto the operating table simply because his father despised him.

The experiment was only half successful. He gained immunity to garlic and silver, but not to sunlight. The side effects were horrifying — uncontrollable bloodlust and manic rage, no different from a wild beast.

Just looking at the mountain of bones in the sewer showed how many lives had been lost to the failed experiment.

Nisha's fury boiled over. Her beautiful face darkened with murderous intent as she clutched the ring tightly.

"I need to go back and investigate before I can confirm this."

"I'll take you back and let you talk to your brother properly," Steve said calmly.

He didn't object. In fact, he was counting on Nisha to inherit the vampire kingdom's wealth and power. Now that this family tragedy had unfolded, he didn't need to add fuel to the fire.

After escorting the two women to safety, Steve and Chad Norma found a safe house nearby — though the stench of the sewers still lingered.

Steve crossed his arms and asked with a smirk,

"Do you want simple revenge, or total revenge?"

Chad Norma looked confused. "What do you mean?"

Steve tossed him a blood plasma pack and opened a bottle of Sprite for himself.

"Simple revenge means killing Old North. Total revenge means eliminating everyone involved in the genetic experiment. You don't actually think your father worked alone, do you?"

"He's not my father!" Chad Norma roared. He refused to acknowledge such a monster as his parent.

What kind of father would use his own son as a lab experiment?

(Hulk: "That sounds familiar!" — The Incredible Hulk 2003)

"Nisha is my wife — your sister," Steve continued. "This kingdom is rotten. Instead of patching up a decaying system, we'll tear it down and build a new one.

Your condition isn't hopeless. You've seen Blade, right? He has the same bloodthirsty instincts, but he's still alive and in control.

Technology is advanced now — finding a cure isn't impossible.

If you work with me, you'll get your revenge, and I'll help Nisha take control of the kingdom's wealth and political connections.

Your brothers and sisters won't just sit back while she inherits everything. We need to clear the path for her.

And with that money, I'll have the resources to help you recover.

I also have my own goals. I've been slandered by politicians and need allies — real ones.

The best way to gain trust is through honesty."

Chad Norma fell into deep thought, sipping from the blood bag as he considered Steve's words.

His own plan had been simple — kill his father and die afterward. But Steve's proposal gave him purpose.

And somehow, with Steve's calm conviction, it didn't sound manipulative at all — it sounded righteous.

"I choose total revenge," Chad finally said. "I'll help you, but I have two conditions!"

Steve leaned back on the sofa, one leg crossed over the other, looking like a commander evaluating a new recruit.

"Let's hear it."

"First — I'll kill North with my own hands.

Second — you must never abandon, hurt, or betray my sister, Nisha!"

Even after losing everything, Chad still had his sister — the only family he cared about.

"Nisha is my wife — my sweetheart," Steve replied without hesitation. "I plan for her to give birth to eight or ten children for me. Why would I ever hurt her?

A man should protect his woman. If he can't even do that, is he really a man?

Speaking of which… can humans and vampires even have children?"

The mood suddenly shifted.

What had been a solemn conversation took a bizarre turn.

Chad Norma stared at Steve blankly. The man looked dead serious — as if discussing world peace.

"No problem," Chad replied after a pause. "My father had several human spouses — they gave birth to children."

It was a serious topic. Science, not nonsense!

"Good," Steve said with a grin. "Those mindless subordinates of yours aren't needed anymore.

After you get your revenge, I'll assign you a new team. In the meantime, I'll work on curing you. Don't worry — I'll find a way."

"Alright. I believe you."

That was the power of Steve Rogers' credibility. You might not trust anyone else — but you could trust Captain America.

"It's a deal then," Steve said. "Once Nisha confirms everything, I'll bring her to see you.

Take this phone so we can stay in touch."

He handed Chad a phone, briefly missing Sharon Carter — at least she handled things like this for him.

Having a super-soldier as a personal assistant would be a luxury anywhere else.

"Thank you, my friend," Chad said earnestly. "You're a true hero."

If he didn't know any better, he might've thought Steve Rogers was from his own homeland.
