Toussaint coughed angrily as his body crashed into an unlit fireplace.
A heavy wheeze escaped his throat. His sternum screamed at him in agony, causing every breath he took to be far too shallow.

The attack he had just suffered was hardly at that level. But his body was so infuriatingly weak that even the attacks of insects were bringing him to his knees.
He couldn't stand for this. He wouldn't.
