Outside, Kai could hear the shelter erupting in laughter and chatter.
Some of the Foreign Survivors had even torn open their MRE boxes already. Curiosity definitely outweighs exhaustion.
They didn't want to rest, they wanted to see the rewards given to them by the system!
"There's Beef ravioli here! Not bad at all," someone exclaimed.
Another groaned. "Ugh, chili and macaroni? I hate this… Can someone do a trade for this MRE? This one isn't that bad, but it's not really my type of food."
"Hey, don't complain. At least it's warm food. Oh... I got Southwest beef and black beans… this one's actually decent."
"Chicken chunks here. Dry as hell, but better than nothing."
The comments bounced around. There was a mix of complaints and genuine delight. For many, even the blandest menu felt like luxury compared to the scraps they'd been living on.
Kai smirked faintly as he listened.
'They're celebrating like it's a feast… and maybe it is, after ten days of hell.'
