So many things about both the boy and girl baffled Simon, but the one that was truly the kicker was the fact that he had not sensed either of them even when they were so close to him.
With his demon cat senses and war veteran senses, none of the candidates should have been able to do such a thing.
But those two did, and it bothered him greatly.
'Even when I look at them, their presence is much fainter than it's meant to be.'
'A strange power seems to be distorting and masking the boy's presence. As for the girl...'
Simon frowned slightly as he stared at the white-haired girl.
'Her presence is even more faint and deceiving. If my ocular technique could not see the faint outline of a demon's chaos flame, I would have believed she was a Minor Lesser Demon like me because of the demonic energy around her.'
'My ocular technique tells me she's weak, but my instincts are telling me she's dangerous.'
