"Are you aware," Ruifeng continued softly, "that there are more than two hundred beasts outside, all searching for you, Su Ningyan?"
Ningyan didn't react.
No flicker of surprise crossed his face, no tightening of his expression. If anything, he looked almost bored. Tang Ruifeng studied him closely, clearly waiting for a crack.. something. When none came, curiosity sharpened his gaze.
He really was beautiful.
But not as beautiful as Meishan. And though there was mischief in his eyes, it wasn't the same dangerous spark Yan Wuhen carried.
Ningyan frowned faintly.
Why the hell was he comparing them?
"Did Zihan set you up?" Ningyan asked abruptly. "Did she send you here to kill me?"
Tang Ruifeng laughed. "No. Not at all." He tilted his head, amused. "I'm just as surprised as you are. Imagine my shock, discovering that the beast so many wants dead is here in Water City, looking to get fucked."
Ningyan shot him a dry look. "A beast has his needs."
