Maya seemed surprised to hear about something binding him. She made some quick mental deductions, then said.
"Basically, you made a promise, and you don't want to break it. Am I right?"
Kaiser nodded, passing her an apron as he put on his own.
"I see," She nodded. "Does this girl possess a color?"
Kaiser paused, then glanced at Kiera. She was still sleeping soundly, unaware that two people were discussing about her.
After staring for a few seconds, he shook his head.
"No, she doesn't. She's just like everyone else—colorless."
Maya nodded, "Oh, alright. But you know she might not remain colorless forever, right?"
Kaiser hesitated, then nodded, "As long as the right catalyst is applied at the right time, she can surely display a bright color… or colors."
Chuckling, Maya began to slice the onions. She anchored her glasses well and said, "Your experimental view on life is strangely amusing."
"Amusing?"
