Liam sighed in his heart as he took a look at the surroundings. Then, he turned back to Kiera who was staring at him with her sharp red eyes.
"Kiera, I—"
"You don't need to apologize," She cut in sharply, then her tone softened. "I understand why you did it. You didn't want me hurt, yeah. I get it."
Her voice trembled, frustration slipping into her words.
"But it still hurts, you know? I thought you reciprocated my love. Yet, it was all just sympathy. A plan not to make me cry. I'm sorry if this might be rude, but while I understand your intention, I'm still mad at you."
Liam said nothing, letting her speak. When she felt silent, he finally opened his mouth and talked.
"I won't ask you to forgive me, Kiera," His tone was firm, and he was completely serious. "I selfishly did what I thought was right, and delayed the inevitable. Still, I sincerely hope you can find someone who will truly love you. I hope so."
