Because of the two thick layers of walls, the attacking aquatic creatures were forced to go over the wall to reach the divine beings and the outpost core. But the shield drones were there to destroy anything that came close, while the flying drones flew around to serve as support for the defenders.
The strength of the drones was impressive, but the most impressive aspect they possessed was their perfect coordination. They didn't act independently. Every single action of theirs was made in tandem and with the support of nearby drones.
Sometimes, a drone will leave an enemy half dead and leave to attack another enemy. This was usually because another drone was better suited to kill the enemy.
This usually happened because of the need for laser guns to cool down before they can shoot again. The first drone would let its laser cool down instead of continuing to try to kill the enemy at the risk of overheating the laser.
