Tilly POV
I found a horse outside. Funny, it had a label too.
Horse - majestic black.
It was a damn beautiful horse with a golden strip across her left eye. And it was mine. Chase left it behind for me.
I went to her. Her beady eyes on me as I approached.
"Normally," I said, touching her mane, "I would spend an insane amount of time getting to know you, Blackie. But I need to find your master. So—"
I climbed up. She held steady but fussed.
"I don't blame you, Black. If someone mounted me within minutes of meeting me, I'd be cranky too." I patted her before leaning in to whisper. "Please tell me you know the way back to your master?"
Black made a sound and started moving like she could understand me.
The ride was long. The wind was cold. The sky was gray.
I held on. I didn't let go. I needed to get to Chase. I had words for him.
Black stopped eventually. I looked up. We were approaching a house.
The house was small. A cabin, really. Tucked into the mountainside.
