Chapter 88 - Chapter 88 – Dumping bitcoin

In the study, Ye Chen pointed at a question and said, "Look, you can solve this one with this line of thought."

He was still explaining when he realized Su Xiaonuan wasn't looking at the problem—she was looking at him.

*Ahem.*

"Student Su Xiaonuan, please pay attention."

"Oh." Su Xiaonuan stuck out her tongue.

By the end of the session Ye Chen felt drained.

Was this girl here for extra lessons?

She was plainly ogling the eye-candy!

You had to admit, Su Xiaonuan was impressive.

Even while sneaking glances at Ye Chen, she still absorbed everything he taught.

Her basics had always been solid; she only needed help with her problem-solving approach.

A few pointers from Ye Chen and she got it at once.

Today's trial lesson lasted just one hour.

Su Xiaonuan hadn't had enough of Ye Chen's face before it ended.

Ye Chen smiled. "Good work today—just remember to focus during class."

Su Xiaonuan nodded shyly, then suddenly asked him a question.

"Ye Chen, how are you so amazing?"

He thought for a moment. "Actually, it's nothing. I flip through the book and the knowledge just sticks."

Su Xiaonuan: "…"

Ye Chen was telling the truth.

With the system's photographic memory and infer-others skill,

a quick skim was enough to store everything in his head.

To Su Xiaonuan, it sounded like peak humble-bragging.

Days slipped by.

Half a month passed in the blink of an eye.

By now bitcoin had broken through the 1,000-M-yuan mark.

Tomorrow would be its final surge, peaking at 1,118.

After that it would slide bit by bit,

eventually hovering around a few hundred.

That afternoon Ye Chen decided to cash out.

He wouldn't wait for the very last day.

He was afraid he might not find buyers at the peak.

Besides, the current price was already sky-high.

Greed kills; getting out early was the smart move.

"You're really selling?"

"The rally these past few days has been crazy."

Li Sitong was reluctant, still loath to let go.

After all, she'd watched bitcoin rocket ten-fold in under a month, smashing past 1,000 M-coin.

The speed of the surge was terrifying.

"The recent gains have been too wild—that's not healthy. I think we should sell."

"If this is the final blow-off top, we might not be able to unload our coins."

Ye Chen said firmly.

Then he began to execute.

He listed all 3,718 of his bitcoin for sale.

Li Sitong also tipped off Yu Jiajia that Ye Chen was dumping.

He set his asking price at 1,090; with another surge tomorrow, the coins should sell.

"Done. Now we just wait for buyers."

Ye Chen grinned. "All right, little tycoon—you're about to become a multi-millionaire."

After posting the order he stopped watching the market.

If they sold at that price, he'd net 4,052,620 M-coin.

At 7:1 exchange, minus fees, that meant 28.35 million chinese yuan hitting their accounts.

Nearly a ten-fold gain—over 25 million in pure profit.

Li Sitong stared dumbfounded at the balance in her account.

More than 16 million; subtract the 2 million principal, split the 14-million profit with Ye Chen, and she still cleared 7 million.

Ye Chen alone pocketed almost 8 million; add the 7 million from Li Sitong and he was up 15 million.

Xia Yingluo's 10,000 had turned into 100,000 overnight.

[Ding! Congratulations, Host. You helped an investment target complete a deal exceeding 100,000. System rebate: 900,000. Special reward: God-Tier Cooking.]

God-Tier Cooking?

Ye Chen's eyes lit up.

Not a bad skill at all.

As they say, to win a woman's heart, first conquer her stomach.

"Haha, we're rich, we're rich!" Li Sitong beamed.

"Yep, we're all rich now," Ye Chen said, the corner of his mouth curling.

Fifteen million—his very first pot of gold.

Ye Chen's first thought was to buy his parents a nice villa.

Their current place was an old block with cracked walls.

The minute the money arrived he wired over the 300,000 rent he owed.

The transfer had just gone through when his phone buzzed.

[Ding! Host helped an investment target complete an investment. Rebate: 3,000,000.]

"Let's go celebrate," Li Sitong suggested.

Ye Chen said, "How about this—come to my place this weekend and I'll cook for you."

"Huh? You can cook?" Shock flashed across Li Sitong and Xia Yingluo's faces.

After all, most kids their age were only children.

Hardly any of them could cook.

Ye Chen chuckled. "You girls underestimate me."

Sunday morning Ye Chen shooed his parents out of the house.

His mom left still worried her son might cross-dress again.

He had to call Xia Yingluo; only after Mother Ye confirmed she was coming did she relax and leave.

*Ding-dong.*

Ye Chen was busy in the kitchen when the doorbell rang.

He opened the door to find Li Sitong and Xia Yingluo standing there, two little beauties laden with bags.

Both of them were carrying groceries.

Ye Chen was speechless.

"You two came to visit—why buy stuff?"

"If we needed ingredients the guy should haul them. Silly girls."

Li Sitong rolled her eyes. "We're dripping sweat to buy this for you and instead of praising us you scold us?"

Xia Yingluo chimed in, "We hit half the supermarkets for these. We're exhausted."

Ye Chen hurriedly took the bags into the kitchen, then pulled ice-cold lemonade from the fridge.

"All right, heroines, hydrate first."

They sipped the icy lemonade, faces glowing with delight.

"Why does your frozen lemonade taste this good?" Li Sitong asked.

"Trade secret," Ye Chen said mysteriously.

Xia Yingluo's curiosity sparked. "What secret?"

Ye Chen smirked. "Family recipe. Only passed to Ye-family members. Unless…"

Li Sitong glared. "Hmph, trying to take advantage again."

He fetched clean towels so the girls could wipe their sweat.

"Okay, you've done enough. Leave the rest to me."

Xia Yingluo sounded worried. "Are you sure? I can help."

After all, she still felt uneasy about Ye Chen cooking.

Li Sitong asked, "Ye Chen, have you ever cooked before?"

"Of course—whenever my parents aren't home I'm the chef," he boasted.

Xia Yingluo asked, "What dishes can you make?"

"Instant noodles!" he declared proudly.
