"Catch him!"
Evander snapped out of his shock when he heard those words, realising that he was in a dangerous situation. He thought about running away from these people immediately.
The friendly and warm words Evander had received earlier had disappeared, replaced by harsh shouts and sharp glances.
Not wanting to be caught by the villagers, who looked angry when they saw him, Evander quickly got up and pushed the man who had bumped into him earlier to immediately escape from the store.
"Don't let him get away! Our village will be in danger if that cursed creature roams around!"
"Damn it! Call the others!"
Evander ran as fast as he could to escape, and along the way, he could see the villagers looking at him with hatred in their eyes.
Realising that his skull was still exposed, Evander quickly pulled his hood back over his head to cover it.
"Why is this happening? I didn't expect the villagers to react this extremely when they saw my appearance," Evander muttered breathlessly.
Evander glanced behind him and was shocked to see a dozen villagers with weapons in their hands chasing him.
With no other choice, Evander quickened his pace to escape from the villagers. He quickly turned into narrow alleys to make it difficult for his pursuers to follow him.
Evander could feel his bones creaking as if they were about to break. Realising that he was at his limit, he turned into a small, quiet corner.
Then, he hid behind a pile of abandoned wooden beams. Evander did not stop muttering, hoping that the villagers would not find him.
The sound of footsteps approached quickly. Evander began to feel anxious, but he could no longer feel his heart beating.
"Where did that cursed creature go?!"
"Spread out! I'm sure he won't go far!" Someone shouted an order.
"Hurry! Don't lose track of the Undead!"
Quickly, the villagers scattered throughout the village to find Evander. Slowly, the sound of their footsteps faded and finally disappeared.
Even so, Evander couldn't relax. The fact that they were still chasing him made him anxious.
Instead of immediately coming out from behind the wooden beams, Evander tilted his head from behind the beams to peek at his surroundings. After making sure that no more villagers were chasing him, Evander stood up.
This time, Evander made sure that his cloak covered his entire body, and he pulled the hood over his head to cover his whole face.
"Looks like I have to change my appearance quickly, otherwise I could die at the hands of the people in this world," Evander muttered softly as he slowly emerged from his hiding place.
It was then that Evander realised he was on the other side of Stone Hinged village. He had only just realised that this village was large enough to be called a village.
Evander patted the side of his cloak to clean the dust that had stuck to it as he slowly walked down the street. Simple buildings filled his field of vision, and Evander frowned slightly in confusion.
"I didn't really pay attention to where I was going before. This area is very different from the previous economic district," Evander muttered, glancing around to find information about the buildings there.
Evander pulled himself away from the street when he heard footsteps behind him. When he turned to look, he realised it was a group of adventurers.
Their loud voices caught Evander's attention, and he quietly watched them move into one of the buildings. That's when Evander realised that it was the Adventure Guild in the village.
"I didn't expect this building to be the Adventure Guild, considering its small size. It's no wonder, considering this place is just a village." Evander was finally relieved when he realised that the buildings were not shops owned by the villagers.
To make his future travels easier, Evander decided to walk into the Adventure Guild. Evander also needed a map and information about this world, so the best option he had was indeed inside.
When Evander pushed the door open to enter, he could feel a different atmosphere from the streets outside.
Unlike what he had expected, Evander found that the atmosphere inside the Adventure Guild was vivacious, with many people chatting and others looking at the requests on the board.
As Evander stepped inside, he felt several pairs of eyes staring at him, but he tried to ignore them and walked towards a girl standing behind the counter.
"Welcome to the Adventure Guild of Stone Hinged village! How can I help you?" A young brown-haired girl greeted Evander warmly, her broad smile making Evander pause for a moment.
Evander cleared his throat softly when he realised the girl was tilting her head in confusion and blinking as she looked at him.
"I intend to register as an Adventurer," Evander finally replied.
"I see! To start with, you will begin as a Rank F Adventurer. Oh! I almost forgot, what is your name?" The brown-haired girl tapped her head gently, then looked up at Evander.
"Evander."
The brown-haired girl's hand moved quickly, then she handed Evander a small, dark grey, credit card-sized plaque.
"Please put your fingerprint here."
Evander fell silent when he realised that his undead body, which consisted of bones, could not produce blood or make a fingerprint. Evander did not think he would encounter this difficulty.
[Magic. Instead, the Host can put the Host's Magic on the ID card.]
"Can I put my magical power on it instead?" Evander decided to ask the brown-haired girl.
"Hmm... Actually, you can if you don't mind," replied the brown-haired girl, uncertainly.
Without saying anything, Evander lifted his hand from behind his cloak and placed it on the old grey plaque. To be honest, Evander didn't know how to release his magical power.
However, at that moment, Evander felt a cold sensation coming from his palm, and the old grey plaque began to glow. Evander quickly withdrew his hand after that, not wanting the brown-haired girl to notice anything strange about him.
"Well, that's it. You are now registered as an Adventurer. Please report the completion of at least one Quest per month so that you are detected as an Active Adventurer. You must re-register if you exceed the time limit," explained the brown-haired girl kindly.
"I understand. Besides that, I want to ask something. Where can I find maps and weapons other than at the market in this village?" Finally, Evander had the opportunity to ask that question.
"Other than the village market?" The girl looked at Evander strangely, wondering why the man in front of her had been choosing the more difficult route since earlier.
"You can try visiting the Merchant Guild across the street. If you're lucky, they'll trade with you," the brown-haired girl explained.
"The Merchant Guild, huh." Evander nodded in understanding, feeling slightly intrigued by the Merchant Guild.
