What the hell is he talking about...'full moon's grace'. Is that why we're healing faster?
It doesn't matter!
My body's healed just enough to make him think twice about-More howling!
But this time it isn't coming from the stadium?!
"Seems like it was a good idea for me to tag along," A scheming growl far behind Benson admits.
"Hurry up and pull this out of me!" Benson impatiently groans.
A werewolf jumps down from the trees, "Looks like they got you riled up." No, she can speak. She's a lycan.
She walks up to Benson and pulls out a dagger coated in gold.
"Urrgrghh!" He shouts, staggering for second before an amused snicker escapes. "Use that to stop him." The female lycan turns her sights to me.
An aggressive roar floods out of me; I'm not letting them get close to Hewlett. "Give me two minutes...max," Hewlett says, trying to get up.
Focus, I need to focus. I'm making the first move and buying time! My feet sweep on the ground kicking up a dust cloud.
I shift left and use my leg to block her dagger swipe by her wrist.
A shimmer.
It's the dagger!
I kick her away and shift right-Benson bursts through the cloud.
I throw a punch for his right side.
His eyes stunned as my punch lands.
He loses his footing and swings out a desperate kick.
I parry it and tackle him to the ground.
Benson kicks me off of him-
I grab on to his arm, quickly plant my feet and hurl him even further.
An intense pain flashes my chest. I grip my chest-the ordinary!
My head twists back and I see the gold dagger; its too close to dodge.
Even if I do Benson will land a hit I can't dodge-
"Aiiiinghhh!" The ordinary whines. Shot away by a gust.
"Hewlett!"
The ordinary hits into Benson as Hewlett runs to me.
"What happened to two minutes?"
"I knew they heard me too so I had surprise all of you," Hewlett answers.
The nausea I'm getting from the weapon he's holding is making my eyes narrow. "Lets do this!" I shake my head, sinking my mind deep into my lycan side; tracing back into the trance I was in in the stadium.
Benson gives off a resilient roar. "Handle the pup..." Benson orders the female lycan whilst they sprint towards us. "The campaigner is mine!"
Hewlett and I run to meet them.
The lycan leaps up at me.
I slide to dodge her.
She turns back, aiming for my ankles.
I swing my body back and knee her side hard.
She tumbles back nearly unconscious.
I look back at Hewlett-I knew he wasn't ready to fight again.
Benson throws a punch at Hewlett.
Hewlett flips back with a vertical wind gale-
It hits Benson as his fist smashes into the ground. He groans from the cut.
Hewlett lands on his feet as Benson flings dirt at him.
I reach them with a kick at Benson's head from behind him-he blocks and pushes my leg away.
"Nkundu-Nkundu!" Hewlett shouts, the wind whistling as a twister explodes out of his hand at Benson. He holds up his arms in time but fails to endure it; the pressure slicing away at him until he tumbles backwards.
Hewlett steadies himself. He looks even more exhausted. I try to talk but only a grunt comes out of my mouth. I try again, still a grunt. This must be the effect of tapping deeper into my lycan self. I lose more human features! My chest is beginning to flare up.
I wince; this isn't enough to take Benson down. Hewlett has to stab him through the heart this time. My transformation is already wearing out. I look at Hewlett, he nods and starts running for Benson.
I follow, sprinting ahead. I don't know how long I'll hold out.
I'll make it count!
Benson gets up, he notices the ordinary passed out next to him in her human form and immediately launches himself at Hewlett and me.
I lunge at him too, our snouts as wide as we can open them.
We collide in a thunderous clap. Our canines biting down hard as we claw at each other. The silence around us floods into stubborn barks between us.
As our claws dig deeper into each other's fur, Benson winces in a split moment and pushes me back.
We pace against each other growling for dominance. Benson is larger than me but backing down was never an option!
I lunge for his neck this time-Benson slams me into the ground.
I hold on, the claws on my feet scraping at his gut as I clamp my jaws down harder.
He slams me down again. I'm not letting go! I'm beating you, taking this bead to Umu and going back home! I'll ignore the burning pain in my chest, I'm beating you Benson. Before the sun rises!
My feet lose their claws, my tail completely fades away but I hold on to his neck by my teeth.
I still have to give Hewlett an opening!
Benson swings me off his neck-Not before I throw a punch, with everything I have left to his face. I fly off of him.
It's your turn Hewlett...
I plummet to the ground.
