Chapter 118 - Chapter 118 - The Man with 'Invincible' Written All Over His Face

This... is a new character?

When the light curtain shifted its focus to the tall man, the audience was somewhat surprised. After all, the figure before them was a bit too distinctive.

The viewers didn't have much of a reaction to Tanjiro initially.

Perhaps Tanjiro was indeed favored by fate, the original protagonist of this world. But the moment Dio arrived, everything was already set in stone.

The audience did not believe for a second that Tanjiro could defeat Dio. The gap was simply too vast.

Tanjiro was still struggling to cut down low-level demons with his sword, while Dio had already killed Upper Rank One and Upper Rank Three on their first encounter. Not only that, but in a very short time, he had assembled a powerful and loyal force that had even infiltrated the Japanese government.

This time, the protagonist was different from the last. Elysia's personality made it almost impossible for her to have any major conflicts with the humans and Heroic Spirits of the Holy Grail War.

But Dio was different. Based on the power and personality he had displayed, no one in this world could defeat him.

Furthermore, Dio was a natural-born villain, placing him on the opposite side of humanity from the very beginning. His time-stopping power... the entire Demon Slayer world couldn't produce more than a handful of people capable of confronting it.

[Light Curtain Comments]

[Loid Forger (Twilight): "His aura is different. This man has a unique presence, almost the same as when Dio first appeared. Could he be the true protagonist?"]

[Insect Hashira, Shinobu Kocho: "The Final Selection... when did such a person appear? None of the Demon Slayer Corps cultivators have ever seen this man." ]

[Fantasiyland's Public Security Officer: "This is clearly an existence similar to Dio. Even the art style is different." ]

[Robert E. O. Speedwagon: "A Joestar! He's a descendant of the Joestar family!! There's no mistake, I'd never be wrong about this! Even though I can only see his silhouette, this feeling I have deep down can't be wrong! He is definitely Sir Jonathan's descendant!"]

[Josuke Higashikata: "That invincible-looking figure... Masaka!"]

[Joseph Joestar: "Hey, old man Speedwagon, you say he's grandfather's descendant, so what about me? Or... is this man my descendant too? Could he be my son? That's not good, I'd rather have a daughter than a son. Oh, right, can I ask him who my future wife is?"]

[Light Curtain]

The camera followed Tanjiro's gaze, scanning the mysterious man up and down.

[This is a man with a resolute face and a powerful build. A stern visage, complemented by a height of 195cm and a weight of 82kg.

—He gives his family an unparalleled sense of security, and his enemies a sense of oppression without even showing anger.]

This was not Tanjiro's inner monologue, but a line of text that slowly appeared on the screen. Combined with this unique description, the audience quickly understood.

Just like with Dio and Elysia before, this was the light curtain's introduction for the mysterious man. It seemed the viewers were correct; the man before them was indeed another transmigrator, separate from Dio.

[He is very popular with the girls at school. Even though he often smokes, drinks, gets into fights that land others in the hospital, and frequently calls the girls annoying, it does nothing to stop them from fawning over him and flocking to him.]

The audience outside the light curtain: ???

What kind of walking human cannon was this? Ah, no, what kind of insane luck with women was this? Were girls these days that easy to win over?

From the light curtain's description, wasn't this person just the kind of delinquent you'd see at school? After rappers and "spirit guys," were female students now into delinquents?

[However, even though Jotaro smokes, drinks, assaults teachers, dines and dashes, participates in brawls, and has been to jail, he is still a person with a strong sense of justice.]

You call THAT a sense of justice?

For a moment, the audience was stunned. They were already wondering if the light curtain was being sarcastic.

The various crimes listed above, while not enough to warrant an on-the-spot execution, were certainly enough to earn the scorn of passersby. This was a significant level of moral decay.

[Now, the fated duel between the Joestar family and Dio, a grudge spanning a hundred years, will finally be brought to an end by his hands—by Jotaro Kujo!]

[Light Curtain Comments]

[Josuke Higashikata: "I knew it! The moment I saw his silhouette, I guessed it! It really is you! Jotaro is truly Dio's natural enemy, even after being transported to another world! With the invincible [Star Platinum], a mere Dio is nothing!"]

In the timeline of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable, Josuke Higashikata was exceptionally excited. He had long known that Jotaro had defeated the time-stopping Dio years ago, and now he could finally see it for himself.

[Jonathan Joestar: "Be that as it may, we of the Joestar family have always been gentlemen, generation after generation. Why did the light curtain describe him like that?"]

[Robert E. O. Speedwagon: "It's likely intended to create a misunderstanding, just as the light curtain did with Dio earlier." ]

[Conan Edogawa: "The fate of the Joestar family and Dio, a century-long grudge... It seems this viewing doesn't plan on featuring only one person like the first one." ]

[Otto Apocalypse: "I doubt it's that simple. If it were just a fated duel, it could have been shown in their original world. The light curtain would not choose a new stage for their confrontation without a reason." ]

[Light curtain]

The original protagonist, Tanjiro, was having a staring contest with Jotaro.

"So... so tall!" Tilting his head back to look at Jotaro's towering frame, this was Tanjiro's first impression. In front of this man, Tanjiro felt like a child.

Just by looking, the man's height had to be over 190 cm. In a country like Japan, he was practically a giant.

"Yare yare daze... (Give me a break). Another Stand user's attack? Or did I wander onto some kind of movie set?"

Jotaro paid no mind to Tanjiro, instead surveying his surroundings. There was nothing but trees, and some 'people' who reeked of a foul stench.

The sudden change in environment confused Jotaro and raised his vigilance to the maximum.

"Hey, you, kid over there. I don't see any cameras. Where is this? And who are you?"

With his arms crossed, Jotaro simply treated Tanjiro as a child. After all, compared to him, Tanjiro's stature was indeed that of a child.

"Who... who are you? Are you an ordinary person who wandered in here by mistake?" Tanjiro asked back, a hint of concern in his eyes.

Although Jotaro's tone just now had not been pleasant, and was even a bit rude, Tanjiro's exceptionally keen sense of smell picked up the scent of kindness emanating from him.

This person is a good person.

Having confirmed this, Tanjiro naturally didn't mind Jotaro's earlier tone. Instead, he began to wonder if Jotaro was a Demon Slayer participating in the Final Selection, just like him.

But seeing that Jotaro didn't have a Nichirin Blade, and not having seen a figure as tall as him on Wisteria Flower Mountain before, he quickly dismissed the idea.

"An ordinary person?" Jotaro repeated the term. Although the person before him was a child, he had been brought to this place inexplicably. Anyone was a suspect.

Coupled with the sword in Tanjiro's hand, although Tanjiro appeared exceptionally friendly, Jotaro was keeping a close eye on his every move.

And now he calls me an ordinary person. Could this kid be a Stand user too?

"Another living person, and he's so big."

An unpleasant voice interrupted Jotaro's thoughts. The 'people' who reeked in Jotaro's eyes spoke to him.

Their eyes were filled with a craving for Jotaro's body, saliva dripping from their mouths. The way they looked at Jotaro was as if they were seeing a peerless beauty.

As demons on Wisteria Flower Mountain, these weak creatures were trapped here year-round, serving as tools for the Demon Slayer Corps to train their swordsmen.

Having not seen a living human in who knows how many years, they had an extreme craving for flesh and blood. And Jotaro's blood... it was like the flesh of Tang Sanzang, possessing an incredibly powerful attraction for demons.

Marechi... the audience thought of the term. Completely different from their reaction to Tanjiro, Jotaro's blood was like a stimulant that had made these demons lose all reason.

The Joestar bloodline seemed to have a natural appeal to these demons, a blood far superior to that of a regular Marechi.

"This is bad! The look in these demons' eyes is strange! Get back, quickly!"

Tanjiro shouted at Jotaro, adjusting his breathing and tightening his grip on his sword, ready to block the demons the moment they pounced.

As for Tanjiro's actions, Jotaro adjusted his hat, glanced at Tanjiro's back, and sighed, "Yare yare daze."

To Tanjiro's astonishment, Jotaro walked past him and headed toward the demons.

As he walked, he said, "Hey, you lot. Are you vampires? Dio's subordinates? Or some other species?"

One step, two steps... Jotaro was estimating the distance. He could tell the difference between good and bad people. These guys were clearly not human. He didn't know what species they were, but they probably weren't subordinates of that bastard Dio.

He was almost on top of the demons now, only three or four meters away. It looked like they were about to pounce.

Slap— A sound rang out. It was Tanjiro grabbing Jotaro's hand. Almost without hesitation, he started pulling Jotaro back, trying to run.

Wait... pulling me? Jotaro was a little surprised. This kid's grip was incredibly strong.

It was as if he wasn't being pulled by a human, but by a bull weighing dozens of kilograms. Caught off guard, Jotaro was actually dragged back a bit.

But... who was Jotaro? A tough guy with 'invincible' written all over his face. How could he be pulled back so easily?

With a powerful shrug of his arm, Jotaro flung Tanjiro's hand aside and chided, "What are you doing? I, Jotaro Kujo, don't need help from a child."

A hint of displeasure appeared on Jotaro's stern face. He knew Tanjiro was probably trying to protect him, but Jotaro didn't need protection.

Although this kid's grip was surprisingly strong, it was only about the same as his own. [Star Platinum] was more than capable of ORA-ing these demons into something their own mothers wouldn't recognize in less than half a second.

"Those demons are extremely dangerous! Don't go near them!" Tanjiro's eyes were filled with urgency. He absolutely could not let an ordinary person die in front of him.

Although Jotaro was tall and well-built, the strength of demons and humans was not on the same level. Even the weakest demon's physical abilities surpassed those of many ordinary people.

What's more, the demons before them had consumed humans before! Their overall strength was in the top tier on Wisteria Flower Mountain.

"..." Jotaro looked at the boy's eyes, then hid his own gaze under the brim of his hat and sighed.

He's a kind person. Jotaro didn't dislike kind people. But no matter where they were, kind people always seemed to get the short end of the stick.

"You don't need to worry about that," Jotaro said, continuing to walk forward.

Tanjiro wanted to follow, but the fatigue in his body made him stop. He could only watch as Jotaro slowly walked to his 'death'.

---o---

As Jotaro approached, the battle was about to begin. The audience was now incredibly curious.

What was the difference between Jotaro's Stand and Dio's?

Jotaro Kujo was clearly not a vampire, so physically, he was unlikely to be a match for Dio.

To defeat Dio, he could only rely on the power of his Stand. Unless Jotaro's Stand far surpassed Dio's [The World], he would have no chance of victory.

[Light Curtain Comments]

[Commander Erwin Smith: "I don't know if it's just me, but I feel like Jotaro's voice sounds a lot like mine." ]

[Captain Levi Ackerman: "It's not just you. It's more than just similar. If I closed my eyes, I'd think it was you." ]

[Kurumi Tokisaki: "Jotaro's trump card must be that Stand, just like Dio's. Interesting. I wonder if this Stand also has a time-related ability." ]

[Conan Edogawa: "Time-controlling Stands can't be that common, can they? It's impossible for every Stand to have the power to control time." ]

[Joseph Joestar: "That's right. Jotaro's Stand has practically no special ability. It's just a simple, close-range, physical-attack Stand." ]

[Time-Stopping Maid: "Just a physical attack? Isn't that a bit lacking compared to the power of Dio's Stand?"]

[Josuke Higashikata: "Just a physical attack? Heh. Mr. Jotaro is a bit more than just 'ordinary'."]
