Lucian was confused. The apology hadn't worked, so he had searched "Why is my wife angry?" and clicked the first link: "10 Reasons She's Moody: Is She Missing Her Morning Kiss? Is She Sexually Starving?" He had followed some instructions. He had delivered the kiss. So why was she looking at him like he was a monster?
"Isn't this what you wanted, wife?"
"What?"
"You've been wearing that frown since the motel. The articles say women throw tantrums when they feel neglected. I assumed you were acting out because I forgot to kiss you 'Good Morning'."
He looked at her, almost expecting her to nod or relax. He truly believed he was being attentive. "If kissing didn't work… then do you feel sexually starved? Is that why you're so irritable?"
