First of all, I want to thank you all for reading and promise that I will finish this story.
As a new writer, I only had a vague ending in mind when I started. I thought it would be a good idea to post the first chapters and use your feedback to progress. Surprisingly, I was right and wrong at the same time. While many have offered encouragement and support, others have been less kind.
The biggest irony, in my opinion, are the comments saying "another AI story." Yes, I sometimes use AI—mostly because English is not my first language and it helps me work faster after a long day at my "real" job. However, I don't believe this work is so "AI-heavy" that it's unenjoyable. I personally review every chapter at least ten times before posting. The irony? An AI could have written a more constructive comment than some of those.
Before starting this, I never realized how much work goes into storytelling. Writing while no longer on vacation has taken a toll on my creativity. To be honest, I underestimated how demanding it is to manage character development across so many different plotlines.
So, here I am. Sometimes I'm annoyed by "douchey" comments, sometimes I'm overwhelmed by the workload, and sometimes my creativity just isn't there—all while the "easy" option of relying more on AI is right at my fingertips. Just to keep up with a selfe imposed release expectations. I don't like that.
I want to create something I can be proud of. That is why I have decided to pause this story for a while. I plan to write some one-shots to experiment with different styles while I slowly finish this main project in the background. I will only resume publishing once I have reached a point where the end is in sight. I hope you understand.
