It is a lovely day, and it couldn't be better said. The world breathes a sigh of relief, the darkness that roamed the earth is no more. After the battle that ended the struggle between All for One and One for all, which effectively erased the two quirks from existence. There is nothing that can be done to bring the two powers back, no remnants, no vestiges, no embers. This is the true Golden Age.
In the city of Tokyo in early morning, there is a family of three walking to a local health center. In between the two parents is little boy age four, messy black hair almost covering his sea foam green eyes. The boy holds in his hands a small red circular keychain that shows the words "Manly!!!", it is obvious that this is from Red Riot's merch. The boy holds the keychain with visible childish joy, the parents gave it to him to ease his nerves about his quirk checkup... It's working a little too well.
"Kenji remember that you have to go the checkup, deal?" The father of the boy asked calmly, his eyes softening at the boy holding the key chain like priceless artifact.
"Yes papa!" The boy who we now know as Kenji replies with a smile, his hands now holding both his parents' respective hands.
Throughout the walk the mother is showing a careful face laced with unease, she worries about what will happen during the checkup. She is terrified at the possibility of a Kenji being quirkless or worse... receiving a harmful quirk.
The father sensing his wife's unease decides to reassure his her, he smiles widely before saying "he's gonna be fine, the boy's got two parents with great quirks. He probably won't turn into roach like your cousin" his grin turns mischievous immediately.
"Ken! That is not funny!" His wife slaps his shoulder playfully, she can't help snorting though.
Ken, who is now snickering while carrying Kenji on his shoulders takes a breathe. "Mai it's going to be fine, Kenji will be a good person no matter what the check up says"
And with that the streets of Tokyo quietly pass them by as they arrive at the health center. They take their seats at the waiting area where the other parents wait anxiously, one kid even blow up vase... nobody minds it.
"Kenji Haruma" said a quirk counselor in a tired tone, eye bags darkened by the days of guiding little rascals with superhuman abilities... or the occasional explosive toddler.
They enter the counselors office, Kenji is practically bouncing from excitement. The Haruma family now stands before a tired quirk counselor, the parents are visibly nervous. The air is chilly and the scent of hand sanitizer fills the air, Kenji relaxes at the smell.
"Parents are Mai and Ken Haruma, family quirk history is mostly consistent on both sides." The counselor reads from the clipboard in a slow monotone voice "The father, Ken Haruma, posseses a quirk named "Stockpile All" which allows him to store energy within his body up to a certain threshold, user can control the stores energy while to the point he can increase bodily functions. The power cannot create or destroy energy stored, emitter type quirk." The counselor then looks at Ken with a tired face.
"Impressive aye?" Ken puffs his chest, Mai facepalms with a sigh.
The counselor then turns his gaze to Mai, his tone does not change. "Mai Haruma posses "multiply", quirk type: emitter. Allows user to multiply quantities by a set of multipliers namely times 2, times 3, times 4, and all in between. User cannot multiply a quantity with a multiplier higher than four four each use. Relatively simple."
Mai doesn't speak, she just holds Ken's hand tighter. Little Kenji is still sitting between them, he's still occupied with his keychain.
As the tension in the room rises the counselor sighs, he takes Kenji and places him gently near the machine. "Hold still" he says to the little boy while the machine did it's work, Kenji just looks at him starry-eyed. For the first time today the counselor smiled.
"Interesting, very peculiar results." The counselor says, his voice now slightly cheerful.
"Tell us doc!" The parents urge him, they were clearly a bit panicked.
"It seems he inherited a mix of your quirks, normal yes. But what came out is impressive, to say the least" the quirk counselor shows them the results on his tablet. On its screen shows Kenji's quirk
"The boy has the ability to absorb energy like his father may it be be kinetic from impacts, electrical, and thermal(though not perfectly), this can be done up to a certain threshold(improvable) and even be used to improve bodily function..." the counselor pauses while looking at Ken's smug look, he then continues "he also inherited his mother's multiplier quirk, though it can only be used on the energy he already stockpiled" the counselor looks at Mai's anxious face now calming a bit. "Emitter type quirk, fusion of parents', the name of this quirk is to be diagnosed as "Charged Body" and should seek further counseling in the future." The counselor puts down the tablet faces them, "no harmful anomalies detected" he says with a cold but reassuring tone.
Mai sighs with relief, she places a hand on Kenji's head. "He's going to be alright" she admits.
"Hero?" Kenji mutters while looking at his father, cute innocent eyes wide open as he holds the keychain tightly.
"Manly hero" Ken smiles with proud expression, he practically melts with joy when he saw his son's expression.
Later that week, just outside their apartment Kenji plays with a few other boys his age. Some of them show off their quirks, it is chaotic to say the least.
"Hey look! spaghetti eyes!" said a boy who was whipping his eyes around like two gelatinous ropes, he scared off the local cats.
"Ew, that's gross" said another boy who was levitating just an inch off the ground, "at least I don't look like a monster" the floating boy said with a smug face.
"That's! That's! Mean-!" The boy with the spaghetti eyes tried to tell him before he was pushed to the ground by the floating boy, eyes striking the ground like two wet sock. The boy was now in tears.
Kenji didn't say a word further before planting himself between the crying boy and the floating menace to society, he just stood there and glared at the bully.
"Oh don't be so uptight" the floating boy said "he's a monster, and heroes don't play with monsters" he added before kicking up sand to the already crying spaghetti boy.
"Enough!" Kenji shoved yelled out before shoving the floating boy, he then grips the floating boys arm as to not let him do more harm.
" Enough of this villain!" The floating boy spits out maniacally, he then proceeds to shove Kenji continuously until...
"Take this!" With a final shove the floating boy sends Kenji unto the street, he smirks and remains completely unremorseful for his actions. He just shoved his friend into the path of a speeding truck.
"Why-?" Kenji manages to whisper while falling over, his eyes now locked on to the truck now mere inches away from his face. For a moment he believes this is the end, his eyes now flooded with tears as panic takes hold of him. It seems that this is the end...
The truck sends his small dorm flying into tree with resounding thud, the impact alone should have ended him... yet it did not.
"Am I..." He attempts to stand as he is unscathed, his quirk saved him. He now hears a buzz emmited from his chest, his quirk spared his life but now he has reached his threshold... he's about to explode. He collapses on the ground, his body convulses with the energy. He's suffering, confused, and scared.
The floating boy seeing the consequences of his actions runs off scared he'll get in trouble, the spaghetti eyed boy follows.
"Aaaaaaaah!!!" He yells out in pain, he doesn't know what to do. At this moment he feels alone, scared as he waits for anything... as he waits for a hero.
"Aaagh!" Kenji groans under the pressure multiplying and building up with, there is growing a violent blue light emanating. He now fears he'll blow up the whole street, but he hears a voice.
"HOLD ON KIDDO!!!" Those words are heard from a nearby hero bolting to his direction, boots hammering the pavement.
The hero then rushes in and covers Kenji in a protective bear hug attempting to absorb the impact, his skin hardening into an unbreakable shell.
Kenji let's out the energy letting it rampage on to the hero, it rushes the hero. It violently shakes the earth, the blast now shines with a blue blast that should have decimated the hero. The hero in question remains unscathed.
Kenji slumps down as he is exhausted, he looks up to the heroes face. He lets out a few tired words "are you...?" he mutters, he then takes a closer look "Re... Re-... Real Steel?!" he says in utter disappointment but not totally mean.
"It alright kid, everyones favorite unbreakable hero is here-" he tries to bellow but then... sees Kenji unconscious, he proceeds to take the nuke of a toddler to the hospital.
"Rip off..." Kenji mutters in true Red Riot fan spirit, he's still thankful though.
Tetsutetsu does not mind one bit.
