Chapter 4 - Fairy Fruits

[{King King: I don't know much about Fairy Fruits, as the information I acquired only spoke of their existence and small details about it. Since we all came from Terra, I suggest we should share information, as that can at least reduce casualties.}]

[{King King: To set an example, I'm currently in an ocean near icebergs and sea ice. It's very cold here. However, there aren't any noticeable predators aside from polar bears living on sea ice. I don't know if anyone here is from the same sea area, but you can check if you can see me there.}]

[{King King: My talent is information-based, so I can't share any resources or food. If anyone finds a Fairy Fruit, I suggest not trading it with others and immediately consuming it. Doing so might feel like a lottery since you wouldn't know what Fairy Fruit it is, but having a Fairy Fruit, no matter how weak, is better than having none.}]

[{King King: I'll give daily updates here about information I have acquired as long as I live. I hope everyone can return to Terra or at least draw a world update theme that isn't as dangerous as this one.}]

Pausing the simulation for a while, Zayne commented, "So the unique product of the Global Ocean Survival is Fairy Fruits?"

"Although this King King guy seems to be oblivious of possible apocalypse world update themes, as I can definitely say that the Global Ocean Survival is one of the easiest apocalypse update themes."

"If the real world ever encounters a Helios Extinction Event, then forget about achieving perfection; everyone will die before that."

"I don't know who The One is and what their motives are for wanting mortals to achieve perfection, and if there's any hidden schemes behind it, but it doesn't matter with how weak I currently am."

"I'll just uncover the secret of that when I become stronger. But for now, surviving is paramount."

Zayne didn't have any scruples in talking to himself since the world was currently in stopped time.

He trusted his innate talent's time stop feature since it had never been bypassed, so he might as well just die and give up.

Unlike other Terrans, his innate talent rank was so high that it couldn't be graded. If that still wasn't enough to deal with those unknown entities, then humanity might as well await extinction.

Soon after, Zayne resumed the simulation. The simulation wasn't merely text, but it also directly gave him the senses and experiences that the simulation self had experienced.

Of course, he also had the freedom to turn that feature off, but he didn't, as it was essentially giving him free memories and experiences.

If he were to learn skills in the simulation, then it could be considered as him borrowing time to experience more than what his lifespan could offer.

[As you browsed further into the regional chat group, you found that some of the survivors seemed to be lucky to spawn near resource-rich areas, such as near islands or coral reefs.]

[One of them was even lucky enough to obtain a wooden chest floating in the ocean, which contained enough resources for him to upgrade his raft.]

[Of course, while there were lucky survivors who either lucked out on resource-rich areas or had a high-rank innate talent, there were also those who were truly unlucky and started wailing and begging in the chat group.]

[While you could technically create unlimited food and give it to them for free using the chat group's trading feature, you didn't do that as you didn't want to expose your Unlimited Food Creation (Gold) talent to strangers.]

[Not only were you not a saint, but you also weren't in any position to assume such responsibility or duty of saving and helping others.]

[You also checked, and in your ocean region, none of the nearly hundred thousand people were familiar acquaintances. Otherwise, if it were your roommates, you wouldn't mind helping them as they had helped you in the real world as well.]

[As for strangers? Let them fend for themselves. You weren't their parents, and their safety and lives were the least of your worries.]

[However, King King was indeed worthy to befriend, and since his innate talent was information-based, it was in your best interest that he lived as long as possible.]

[So, after sending him a private message and giving him a day's worth of food resources, you two struck an alliance where he'd send you information first, and without omission, directly to your private message. In return, you'll give him a day's worth of food.]

[King King was also a sensible fellow, as he didn't ask where you got the food and accepted it with gratitude.]

[You preferred cooperating with people like him since not only was he sensible, but helping him also didn't cost you anything, yet you would gain information daily from him.]

[Although King King will still send information daily in the public regional channel, it will sometimes be buried by other messages, so having it directly in your private message feels like subscribing to a newsletter.]

[After striking a deal with King King, you decided to make use of the Fairy Fruit information you received from him.]

[It seemed that King King wasn't truly naive, as while the information he gave in public wasn't false, he withheld some of it. For example, he acquired information regarding the three types of Fairy Fruits.]

[The three types of Fairy Fruits were Elemental-Type Fairy Fruit called "Sprite Fruits", Hybrid-Type Fairy Fruits called "Fae Fruits", and Ability-Type Fairy Fruits called "Charm Fruits".]

[Sprite Fruits are elemental-type Fairy Fruits. They allow the user to become or control an element or natural phenomenon.]

[Fae Fruits are hybrid-type Fairy Fruits. They grant the user the ability to partially or fully transform into an animal or fairy hybrid, enhancing physical capabilities and mobility.]

[Charm Fruits are ability-type Fairy Fruits. They produce effects, objects, or buffs rather than transforming the user.]

[Those were the pieces of information that you obtained from King King. You don't know if he was still withholding more information, but that's on him if he was deceiving you.]

[At least in your case, the food you gave him wasn't problematic, and you didn't lace any poison. And since creating it doesn't cost anything, having that additional info was better than the one he posted in the public regional chat, so you weren't losing out.]

[With that information in mind, you decided to make use of your Absolute Compass (Orange) talent.]

[Summoning your soul-bound compass, a golden compass appeared floating on top of your right palm. You had already eaten your beef steak and drank your water bottle, so you had already cleaned them off your raft.]

[Focusing on your compass talent, you commanded, "Point me to where the strongest yet most suitable Fairy Fruit is located!"]
