Chapter 21 - TUTORIAL XVI: PLAN

Before the Human Puppet could reach him, Elias created several layers of Earth Walls on all sides to slow down the Human Puppet even if it's only for a moment.

Once the Earth Wall was erected, he created a hole in the Earth Wall in front of him, before crawling towards the next one. Each Earth Wall had a gap of one meter so they would not overlap and suffer potential instability. He then jumped to his targeted Earth Wall, though he held it by the ledge, as getting on top of it would result in the Human Puppet spotting him.

As he did his best to not fall, Elias watched as the Human Puppet ran past him, causing his heart to skip a beat from how close they were. If the Human Puppet had looked to its left, he would've been spotted. It's only through sheer luck that didn't happen.

'At least I was lucky in that regard.' It's the sole boon Lady Luck had bestowed upon him so far in the game, which he would complain did not cancel out the sheer bad luck that had been going on for him.

Once he was done complaining and the Human Puppet had run past him, Elias pulled himself over the Earth Wall, keeping his body pressed to it so it would be harder to spot him. He observed as the Human Puppet circled around the Earth Walls before heading towards the left side.

He had expected it, even guided the Human Puppet to make the decision by creating only two layers of Earth Walls compared to the right and back side's five. With the left side being the less defended, at least to the Human Puppet and anyone with eyes, it would attack the left side, trying to break through the Earth Walls to get to him.

Elias patiently waited for the Human Puppet to strike the Earth Walls, his legs ready to leap. Though he wanted, no, need to wait for the perfect moment to strike or the gambit would fail.

As he waited, Elias' heart sank as the Human Puppet turned its head towards his direction.

'Did it spot me?' Elias wondered, preparing to run away if that was the case. Sure, it would mean his plan failed but at least he would survive for now.

'Let's wait,' he planned on committing another gamble, to wait and not flee at the moment. The price of losing would be his defeat but if his decision was correct, Elias' plan could still work.

He watched with bated breath as the Human Puppet turned its head, looking around for something. Elias let out a quiet sigh when the Human Puppet stopped its search, instead focusing on the Earth Walls in front of it.

At the moment his body tensed, his muscle primed like a compressed spring, ready to be launched at the moment notice. His eyes on the Human Puppet, waiting for it to strike.

As the Human Puppet struck the Earth Walls, Elias made his move, leaping towards the back of the Human Puppet, reminiscing the time he best Human Puppet Ver.4.

His sudden appearance took the Human Puppet by surprise but it had already swung its weapons on the Earth Walls. And when the weapons hit the Earth Walls, it sank like it was hitting mud, but not because the Human Puppet's attack easily cleaved through the Earth Walls, but because Elias had infused the Earth Wall with Water Aura, making it malleable like clays. Allowing anything to pass through if they used enough force. However, when he poured his Earth Aura to the Earth Walls …

"Heavy Slash!" Elias yelled, slamming his sword on the Human Puppet's back, sending it crashing towards the Earth Walls. When it get its head into the Earth Walls, he poured his Earth Aura, causing it to harden, or to be exact, to return to its previous state.

When the Human Puppet found itself stuck inside the Earth Wall, it tried to move its arms, hoping to hit Elias. Fortunately for him, the Human Puppet cannot twist its joint in full 360 degrees, or it would have turned its arms on him and hit him.

With the Human Puppet trapped, Elias used Heavy Slash, empowered with Earth Aura, on its back and arms. While the Human Puppet possessed high Vitality, it did nothing to improve its defenses. Even if it's greater than Human Puppet Ver.4, it's still manageable for Elias to break its limbs with a single strike.

Each sliced limb brought Elias great joy, as it severely weakened the Human Puppet, dropping its strength. Or so he believed at first until the Human Puppet regrow its arms near an instant.

"That is so not fair!" he yelled out loud, unleashing his frustration at the very busted healing by beating the Human Puppet even more.

'Cutting of its limbs had to do something, right?' He hoped it did something. At least he should shave off plenty of its Vitality with each limb removed.

Unfortunately, with each use of Heavy Earth Slash, it consumed a large portion of his Energy, which could not be recovered in a short time.

'Darn it!' he cursed, trying to deal as much damage as quickly as possible so he can hopefully destroy Human Puppet Ver.10 before his Energy truly depleted.

However, in the likely chance of him being unable to achieve that, Elias made sure to send the weapons of the Human Puppet flying, so he can fight the Human Puppet without its weapons, which hopefully made things easier for him.

"Rargh! Just die already!" Of course, he will make sure to cut off as much Vitality as he can.

At the same time, Elias tried to see if his Observation would be generous this time and reveal how much Vitality the Human Puppet had left.
