Lore 1: Dominant.

Dominant alphas

A dominant alpha can be born to either gender. Their nature doesn't manifest at birth, but it can be shown through the labs after the first week of life, and for a while they live like any other child. Then comes awakening, typically between sixteen and eighteen.

The Temple marks those years carefully. Awakening is when their secondary gender stabilizes completely and their pheromone system unlocks abilities that ordinary alphas simply do not have.

Their pheromones do things. And no two dominant alphas are exactly the same.

Trevor is the clearest example of a controlled destructive type. His pheromones allow him to manipulate the water within living bodies, turning the blood and moisture inside them into a weapon, causing intense suffering or lethal internal damage without lifting a hand.

Dax belongs to the far rarer category: a complex dominant alpha. He can do what Trevor does, but he can also exert direct mental control over alphas and omegas, suppressing or overriding instinct responses on a massive scale. Armies do not fear him because he is king. He is king because armies fear him.

Because of this, dominant alphas are not treated like prestigious nobles.

They are classified by governments and religious authorities as biological weapons. They are monitored medically and politically, evaluated constantly, and their existence is always a matter of national security.

All of this power has consequences.

Using their abilities exhausts their nervous system and damages their hormonal balance. Over time, if they rely too heavily on their power or lack the correct stabilizing partner, their control deteriorates. Emotional regulation weakens. Clarity fractures. That decline has a name everyone knows but rarely says aloud.

Berserk.

A berserk dominant alpha loses control entirely, and their ability acts on everything and everyone in reach. There are recorded incidents. Entire regions still remember the results.

Biologically, they are built differently from other secondary genders. Their bodies are stronger, endurance is higher, and recovery is faster. They routinely operate on two to three hours of sleep per night without impairment. Some, like Dax, push this to extremes, remaining fully functional on a few hours of rest spread across several days. They are efficient in a way normal humans are not meant to be.

A dominant alpha can only successfully procreate with a dominant omega. Standard omegas cannot carry their offspring safely, and pairing with betas or alphas is impossible. Still, history holds exceptions.

There were eras when dominant omegas were so few that they acted as stabilizers without bonding, assisting multiple dominant alphas to prevent catastrophic collapse.

There are also confirmed records of dominant alpha women and dominant alpha men producing children together under controlled circumstances during those periods.

Stability remains the most important issue. Without regulation, they will eventually collapse. With a dominant omega bond, their pheromones stabilize, neurological strain eases, and instinct settles. When properly anchored, dominant alphas live long, often between one hundred twenty and one hundred fifty years, fully functional for most of that time.

Dominant omegas

Dominant omegas awaken earlier than dominant alphas. Most show full stabilization sometime in their teens, often between fourteen and eighteen. Many of them experience their first heat unusually early, around thirteen or fourteen, which is usually the first warning sign the Temple pays attention to.

Like dominant alphas, they do not only carry pheromones for instinct regulation. Their pheromones carry abilities unique to the individual, with measurable effects.

Lucas is categorized as a "siren." His pheromones can manipulate perception, forcing minds to believe that someone they love is calling for them, drawing them out, breaking lines of defense, or pulling enemies into traps.

Chris belongs to another category entirely. His pheromones manifest through cold: frost, temperature suppression, and environmental control. His power is largely defensive but highly effective when needed.

Unlike dominant alphas, dominant omegas do not risk mental degradation when used. Their bodies are naturally more stable. However, their abilities weaken after bonding and continue to diminish with each child they carry. Their pheromones are constantly used to stabilize their mate, regulate their children, and maintain emotional and biological equilibrium in their household.

Dominant omegas possess one ability that belongs only to them.

They can awaken recessive alphas.

A recessive alpha, one with potential but no rut capability, can be forced into a full alpha state by a dominant omega's pheromones. Once awakened, they develop ruts, strength, and instinct, but they become biologically dependent on the omega who awakened them.

Without that omega's stabilizing presence, they deteriorate mentally and physically. In extreme documented cases, they turn into little more than obedient bodies, functioning on instinct and tethered entirely to their omega. The term most records use is simple and blunt: "zombies."

Dominant omegas do have a version of berserk, but it is not outwardly destructive like an alpha's. It is far worse.

If a dominant omega is pushed beyond limit. If their mind, body, and soul are broken enough, their pheromonal system collapses in a completely different way. Instead of releasing destruction, they implode the timeline. Reality resets around them, and they are "reborn" at an earlier point with the chance to alter events.

Not everyone can do this. Only certain dominant omegas, and usually only those with siren-type abilities, have historically managed it successfully.

Lucas did. Yerofey did. Their records exist somewhere deep in archives people are not meant to access.

The Church are very aware of this phenomenon, even if they do not speak about it publicly. To them, dominant omegas are potential tools to rewrite outcomes. If a timeline collapses, the person whose suffering anchored the omega's break is often reborn as well, retaining their past memories. This makes dominant omegas politically invaluable and extremely dangerous.

Trevor is one of those cases. He remembers the first life because his death caused catastrophic emotional and biological pain to Lucas. When their bond reformed, that grief carried forward. The bond remembered, so Trevor did too.

Dominant omegas are stabilizers, regulators, anchors, and, in rare circumstances, reset points in history. Their existence shapes power, marriage politics, religious policy, and military planning just as much as dominant alphas do.

The world does not simply protect them because they are precious.

It protects them because reality itself bends if one of them breaks.
