The atmosphere in the imperial palace was tense this past week.
Despite it being a happy time where Prince Kaiden and Lady Sera were preparing for their long-awaited engagement ceremony, the mood in the palace was not as happy.
And the reason behind it was Prince Kaiden, who was often seen walking around with a lost expression on his face. That sometimes happened even when he was with Lady Sera.
Even now, when they were shopping for an engagement ring, Prince Kaiden looked lost in his thoughts and reached for a golden ring that was one size too big to be for Sera…and was in a male style.
"Prince Kaiden, I told you that I don't like styles like those. And that one is clearly too small for you. But if you like that stone…maybe try this one?"
Sera pushed a bigger and more lavish ring toward Prince Kaiden to take. It caused the smile on his face to fade just a little as he took the offered ring.
