Lumiere's POV
The chandelier above was the only thing in the wide room. The servant who escorted me there left the door open after she left.
My eyes caught a white lily glowing faintly on a table. Lilies. They represented what strings were to me to the Duke of Desire. A way to tell others' emotions. They reacted to even a slight charge of mana in the air and were one of the few magical items that could work on Disciples.
"Is this a kind of test? What did you want to know that you couldn't ask me directly?" My eyes shifted to him. He had suddenly appeared in the room.
His hair was neatly slicked back, and his eyes held the usual mischief. The vents of his tailored suit followed him to a table that materialized when he arrived.
"I have something I want from you. It is of great importance to me and to my people."
I narrowed my eyes at him. Was he referring to the recent attack on his region and mine from the rogues? Truly their behaviours had been unusual.
