Esme's POV
"Come under the light," I asked nicely.
They replied rudely, "If I don't?"
I folded my arms. Who was this man?
Here I was thinking that no one could suddenly get ambushed within the Haven. Did the Moon Goddess enjoy proving me wrong every time?
"She might."
"You're finally active?" I said to Sanya internally, as usual. "I'd have to take the man out myself. This is giving me Eidrin flashbacks."
Someone talking to me rudely while hiding in the shadows. All too familiar. If he had entered a place he shouldn't have, then I could calmly walk him out.
"Do you want to use Blood's Will?"
My eyes widened. What was she saying? Using Blood's Will on a random person we didn't know? Were they that strong?
I marched toward them with my fist balled. "I will come to you then." I gave him a heads-up. I heard them draw their sword, and I froze.
He wore chainmail. Was he a knight?
