The words easily left my lips, but deep down, I knew I meant every single one of them more than Ruby would ever know.
"I am sure the Duchess of Fear never apologized to Lilin. They should handle their own problems now. It would be shameless to blame the weakness of their seal on someone they owed an apology to."
The truce ensured that the Disciples and the Deadly Sins avoided getting into another destabilising battle. That meant even the Disciples should want to keep the peace. Not just the Sins.
"Do you not think it is shameless to excuse his wrongs if they are because of others' wrongs?"
Not at all. I believe in a tooth for a tooth. An eye for an eye. A wrong for a wrong. The one who started it should also bear it when it is dished back to them.
"There's one last problem, Mistress," Ruby added after a long silence. He should let me know while I still had words in my mouth to comfort him with.
"The child. He is the son of prophecy. A bad one."
