Second: compared to Kiana, Mei considered Bronya the greater threat. If Su Ming tutored Kiana, it would compress his contact time with Bronya and reduce Bronya's danger.
Third: although Kiana and Bronya's "unbreakable alliance" had never leaked anything, Mei had sniffed out something off from their synchronized actions.

"By the way, my lease just expired and I haven't found a new place yet. Since Su Ming's tutoring me… can I stay at your place for a while? I'll pay for food and lodging~"

In the corner of her mouth, she flashed a provocative smile Bronya couldn't miss. She even stuck her tongue out at Su Ming.
