Uvogin emerged from the dust. The clothes on his upper body were completely shredded, yet there was hardly any visible damage on his bare skin.
He rolled his neck and loosened his joints as if the fight had been nothing more than a warm-up.
"I have to admit, your growth rate really exceeded my expectations." Uvogin's aura was still as powerful as before. "But choosing to fight in close quarters… in my eyes, that was your biggest mistake."
At that moment, Ronin's eyes stopped hiding—fully shifting into a two-tomoe Sharingan.
At the same time, Ronin's presence climbed rapidly with the change in state. Even the strain the Primary Lotus had put on him seemed to ease in that instant.
That happened for one reason only:
In that moment, Ronin opened the Second Gate of the Eight Gates—the Gate of Healing.
This was the current limit of what he could open.
The Gate of Healing represented recovery—forcing past the body's limits to restore stamina. It let him recover rapidly even after using the first-stage Primary Lotus.
It was also the transitional step from Primary Lotus to Reverse Lotus.
Once Ronin could open the Third Gate—the Gate of Life, that would mean he could use Reverse Lotus, and his taijutsu would undergo a qualitative leap.
Unfortunately, Ronin's body still wasn't strong enough to support opening the Gate of Life.
But unlike Lee, Ronin's advantage was that he could use ninjutsu—and he could use Nen.
So his Sharingan state was brief. When his eyes returned to normal black again, the black Nen beast perched on his shoulder finally moved.
The Lease Devil silently shattered, and an enormous surge of aura erupted from it in an instant, pouring straight into Ronin's body!
Uvogin saw everything clearly.
And when that massive aura flooded into Ronin, the pressure Ronin released was so intense that even Uvogin felt danger.
Ronin felt the overwhelming aura within him. The tomoe in his eyes spun—then the aura around his body vanished in an instant, replaced by an unimaginably huge reserve of chakra circulating inside him.
When even the Primary Lotus couldn't seriously injure Uvogin, Ronin realized his earlier judgment had been wrong.
Back on the airship, when he attacked a movement-restricted Uvogin, the blood at Uvogin's lip might not have been simply because Ronin's strike had landed.
Maybe the Uvogin who had tracked him then had already been injured.
The Sharingan had let Ronin see the flow of aura inside Uvogin, but it hadn't helped him notice the injury. That was probably just inexperience.
And the damage dealt by Lightning Style: Dance of 100 Volts had likely been underestimated as well.
But now wasn't the time to dwell on that.
Since Uvogin was even stronger than Ronin had judged, the idea of fighting him while hiding the Sharingan had become childish.
The brief pause in battle finally let the breathless audience explode into cheering again.
Most people couldn't even see what was happening on the ring—but the crater left behind as the dust cleared was terrifying enough.
Still, that roar meant nothing to the two fighters on stage.
Ronin knew his time was limited.
So after fully entering "ninja mode," he leapt backward. A storm of shuriken burst from his hands—and after they flew out, their number multiplied rapidly in midair.
At the same time, Ronin completed hand seals with one hand.
Fire Style: Phoenix Sage Flower Claw Crimson!
A jutsu with C-rank chakra cost but B-rank control—an advanced form of Phoenix Sage Fire. It attached flames to the shuriken, dealing both physical damage and burning heat.
Uvogin wasn't surprised.
If anything, he was surprised Ronin had only pulled out such a "strange" ability now.
Uvogin raised a foot and stomped down hard. The already-broken stone slabs of the ring exploded upward into a spray of rocks.
Then, using the planted leg as a pivot, he condensed aura into his other leg and whipped it out with the same explosive method as Big Bang Impact.
The flying rocks, propelled by that kick, became bullets.
Rocks and shuriken collided midair. Sparks flew, and some fragments broke through, continuing to shoot toward both fighters.
Ronin's hand seals shifted—Snake – Rabbit – Dog. The moment he finished, he landed and slapped his palm to the ground. A wall of earth rose in front of him.
Earth Style: Earth-Style Wall!
He didn't pour much chakra into it—just enough to form a solid wall on the ring.
All the incoming rock "bullets" hammered into it.
In the next instant, the wall crumbled—and Uvogin's figure appeared behind it.
There were burn marks on his arm, likely from blocking the Fire Style attack.
But his fist was already raised high again, violent aura gathering on it—still Big Bang Impact.
Yet Ronin wasn't nervous at all. He clenched both fists and pulled back sharply—
And wires tightened across the ring, stretched between him and Uvogin.
So the shuriken he'd thrown weren't only attacks—they were also part of a setup for the next offensive wave.
A cold smile rose on Uvogin's lips.
Trying to use momentum to slice him on the wires?
Don't underestimate him, you bastard.
But the moment that thought formed, he saw Ronin flick a hand at his waist and produce a kunai, threading it into the wire.
As the kunai shot forward and struck the ground, the wires snapped taut one after another. Ronin's hands finished another set of seals.
The entire sequence flowed like he'd practiced it countless times.
His mouth opened slightly, chakra condensed—then a thin line of fire shot from his mouth and raced along the tightened wires at blazing speed.
Fire Style: Dragon Flame Jutsu!
Boom!
Uvogin's punch never landed.
Blazing fire—enough to cover nearly half the ring—swallowed him whole.
And it still wasn't over.
Ronin's face was grim as his hands began forming seals rapidly again. This time he wasn't using simplified seals.
He was stacking a full forty-four seals at random.
He was about to max out the power of his next jutsu.
He could feel it—Uvogin wouldn't lose just from being engulfed by Dragon Flame.
So he had to press the advantage while he had it.
A beastlike roar rang out from the flames as they gradually thinned—Uvogin, his whole body scorched.
His Saiyan-like long hair had been burned down into singed short hair.
Large patches of burns spread across his body.
Dragon Flame could snap thick trees in an instant. Yet Uvogin took it head-on and, by the look of it, suffered only superficial damage.
A monster who fully developed Enhancement… is terrifying, Ronin thought grimly.
If a C-rank jutsu only gave him light injuries, then what about a full-power B-rank offensive jutsu?
By the time Uvogin stepped out of the flames, Ronin had already completed more than half of the forty-four seals.
Uvogin took one step forward—
And suddenly, a bad feeling surged in his chest.
